Mortensen: Dolphins have the best chance of signing Peyton Manning

Peyton is old. He is injured. He is not going to get any better. He will be getting worse at an accelerated pace. Think of Namath in a Rams uniform if you're old enough to remember and you will get the picture. This team needs the next Marino, not a short term rental of an old veteran who will cost a fortune. Just say no to Peyton.

Namath was overrated, Manning is light years ahead of Namath. And until you show me these reports that Manning isn't going to get any better then I'm all aboard getting Manning. I don't understand why getting Manning and then drafting a QB in the draft would be a terrible idea, even Manning with Moore behind him is great.

Sign Peyton Manning immediately after release, draft Tannehill + Stud RT (or sign nicks)+ pickup stud TE in 2nd, and we got our team set for a super bowl run for the next 3+years

My body is ready.

Actually, as much as I hate the Jets, you can't say Namath was overrated. He was a good quarterback and a tough SOB. If you want to see what injuries can do to a football player, he's the first guy to look at.

He is the most overrated qb ever. He barely completed 50% of his passes and has more career interceptions than touchdowns by a wide margin. He's only famous because of NFL films!

Chris Mortensen told Jesse Agler of the Finsiders that Peyton thinks the Dolphins have a lot of talent and wants to play in a warm weather city. Also said he is throwing the ball much better than has been reported and should be ready to rock this season.

im not gonna lie.. when i read this, i jizzed a little

if peyton can recover in time, you have a couple years to develop the other QB we draft this year, that means a trade back probably with the bengals if richardson is there since they want a back, they have two first rounders, that gets you a DE and tannehill

There is no other game plan. Anyone that thinks that signing Manning won't include drafting/signing a young guy for the future is ridiculous. These guys aren't stupid. My 10 year old son knows it's signing Manning would be to create immediate legitimacy and makes us contenders for the next few years. It's a genius and perfect game plan and one that cannot be matched by any other possible scenario. I would not be able to contain myself if we get Manning and then draft RGIII............I know I know, we wouldn't have enough to offer for RGIII but man would that be unreal.

This is certainly one way of looking at it.
