Not sure if anyone is listening, Mort is on 790, He just said Cameron is Huizenga's favored candidate right now. He said Wayne also likes Tomlin and Schottenheimer but what it comes down to is he would be hiring a coach a year or two before he was ready to be a head coach he said it is possible though, he said Cowher was hired too young as well as an example.

He also advised waiting it out to see what happens with the Chargers because Marty Schottenheimer could likely become available to the Phins if they don't win the Super Bowl.

Also said Pete Carroll is a dead issue.

Meh, I don't like Cameron. I will support whoever gets the job though.

Shottenheimer would be a terrific addition to our team. He would add consistency. I believe I read somewhere that Don Shula advised Huizenga to consider Shottenheimer if he's fired by San Diego.

Something to consider.

Also, if Dom Capers leaves, I'd love to get Tomlin as our Defensive coordinator, to groom him as our head coach in a couple of years.

Well nothing is final, they still have to do final interviews with Shula and Marino, they also have to wait for Cameron to be available and have to hope Marty doesn't get fired. I think Cameron is going to be very tough to get so we might end up with Tomlin or possibly Brian Schottenheimer. Sounded like from what Mort was saying though that it will either be Cameron or one of the younger guys.

Marty will not win a Super Bowl here (or IMHO anywhere else). If you want to hire a coach to get us back to a situation where we make the playoffs 3 or more years out of 5, Marty might be a good choice. I want more than just making the playoffs, though.

It makes a lot of sense to me that Cameron is Wayne's guy. If he really wanted say Tomlin, I think he would have already been hired. That suggests to me that there is some sort of holdup with whoever it is he wants. I think interviewing more people (like Martz) is mostly about trying to make it look less obvious that the Dolphins are waiting on something.

Please no Marty Schottenheimer, He is a nice guy class act, but all of a sudden he will take the Dolphins to the superbowl in a few seasonns. (not)
He will take us to the playoffs and that will be it. Please no. He is friends with Don Shula, so that can have in effect.

Totall agree - no Marty or Brian - Shottenheimer will never get to the superbowl. How many times has he been the #1 seed in his conference, and lost in the first round of the playoffs - with teams with 13-3 and 14-2 records. Forget him. Don't know much about Brian, but the apple can't fall too far from the tree.

Personally I'd like Terrance Wright as our next HC - read his bashing of Saban - sounds like he knows what he's talking about:lol:
