We all know Parcells and Co. believe in building thru the draft (as they should) and covet having as many picks as possible each year and there's essentially only 2 ways to acquire more picks and thats trading down on draft day and trading players currently under contract. So that leads me to my question, what Fins currently under contract are the most likely to get dealt for a picks?

My best guesses would be:

-Greg Camarillo - Solid possession receiver that still can produce for any number of teams looking for one. He signed a relatively cheap contract last year and I feel like we already have a Camarillo clown on the roster who's younger with more upside in Hartline.
Best case scenario - 4th rounder

-Gibril Wilson - Ok, lets all be serious here ... this dude is a strong safety and is too much of a liabilty to be on the field at free safety. Now he signed a lil bit of a hefty contract this offseason but if somehow we can find a team that desperately needs strong safety help maybe a deal can be struck but in my opinion it'd still be a long shot.
Best case scenario - 3rd rounder

I'm going w/ nobody.

With a very long shot of maybe Gibril Wilson being sent if there is a crazy enough team to give up a 3rd or higher for him.

I'm thinking camarillo, maybe fasano cause I see us wanting to go in a differant direction for te. No one will trade for gabril because of the money he gets no one's gonna take on that contract.

A 3rd rounder for Wilson??? LOL. Cam wouldn't fetch a 4th either. We have very few players on this team that would garner more than a late round pick in a trade.

And there's the reason Wilson goes nowhere, they will probably put him back at SS, and get a better FS.

This is also what I think will happen. They will move G. Wilson to SS and give Chris Clemons the opportunity to win the FS spot. What do you think happens to Y. Bell? I think he signed a new contract as well last season...right?

Maybe Bell is the one who gets traded?

Go Fins!!!

I was gonna say what do u do with Y. Bell? He had a great season and is a much better SS than G.Wilson. And yes he did sign i believe a 3 yr deal last season. I say put Clemens back there and just have Wilson as a back up or even better, the backup to our backup FS

Well for one Fasano is a restricted free agent which will make him tough to trade.

i think a team missing 1 or 2 pieces on a 3-4 D will prob give up a 4-5th for Porter like maybe one of those teams who recently switched to 3-4 ala Green bay, Kansas City, or Denver. Camarillo is worth more to us but if he can get us a high pick (doubt it) i say keep him. Wilson might be the easiest player to move, although his contract might hold things up, but since he has proven to be a good SS in the league. Other then that the only players i see getting us any good picks are Brown, and Williams.

All highlighted have no chance at all, and no way in hell crowder is worth a 2nd, wow!

:chuckle: Crowder worth a 2nd? i wouldnt even give up a 7th...

Ya, I was doing more of a "guess value thing". However, I disagree about Crowder and especially Merling.

I don't like Crowder myself, but nobody can argue the fact that he is well thought of outside of south Florida. Time and time again I have watched and listened increduously to pundit after pundit praise Channing Crowder.
If Arizona loses Dansby and O'Keafor to FA, and Berry to retirement, which is what is expected, they would be desperate for a veteran defensive leader. A late 2nd would be appropriate in a case like this. Maybe give them a 6th or something in return.

Remember, when it comes to a trade, it doesn't matter what our opinion of a guy is; what matters is the other guys opinion and situation.

Gibril Wilson is another case in point. I want to get rid of the guy. He let us in down again and again in big situations all year; but, profootballfocus.com rates him the 16th best safety in the NFL and nobody can ignore his tackles total up there in the top 5 for safeties in the league. Even at his high salary he has trade value, even though he disgusts us.

Merling on the other hand just doesn't fit the system, never has, and shouldn't have been drafted. He ISN'T a 5 technique and has shown that over and over again. He is a prototypical 4-3 End, and would probably be a very good one if he was allowed to lose the fat and go to work where he belongs. Yes, he should be traded. We have good depth at the position and the Baker kid may be coming on.

Soliai is another case. He has whown he is not the 3-4 NT we wanted him to become. He could probably flourish as a NT on a team running a 4-3.

I think it's more likely that they move Bell and put Wilson in his spot. It would have to be a 2nd rounder though.
