I thought the Dolphins should have selected Patrick Willis, ILB. in the 1st rd. That was who I was pulling for the whole time while everyone else was about to order there new Brady Quinn jersey's .

I know this wouldn't have been a real popular pick with most fans considering we have one of the best inside backers in the game in Zach Thomas, but I think that guy is going to be an absolute stud at linebacker for the next 10-12 years in this league and Zach isn't getting any younger. Plus, I think he is more of a sure thing then Brady Quinn or Ted Ginn. Just my opinion.

You are absolutely correct..Willis could be the best player in this draft but since he is an ILB he was not take higher, which was a mistake IMO. I would have taken Wiilis myself at #9.

Willis was one of the players I hoped we'd pick....

I see where you are coming from but this team desperately needed an infusion of offensive talent in an area which has been neglected too long.

IMO we were looking for a QB/WR combo going into the draft .It was either going to be Quinn plus a WR in the second round or the other way around which was the path we chose ultimately.

I dont think any other positions were considered for the first two picks.

IMO the defense is good enough to hold its own.

BTW Welcome to Finheaven.:)

yes. instead of drafting a player who could fill a position we actually need help in, we should have drafted an ILB. Despite having Zach Thomas to play right now, and then Crowder to take over the inside once Zach is gone. (and yes, CROWDER is an ILB playing outside)

Then after that, we even have porter, Thomas, and Crowder. Willis wouldn't even play this year. You don't draft a guy at #9 who won't even play.

You might change your mind as you see a teal & orange streak taking the seasons opening kick to the house!

I wouldn't have minded taking Willis if we could have traded Zach for a 2 or 3.

I agree with you that Willis would have been a solid pick (of course, only time will tell with any of the picks). The big problem as Crunch Time mentioned, is that our offense has been so anemic and neglected that they had to go offense.

The linebacker spots are pretty well set with the Porter signing, Crowder playing well, and Zack still playing at a high level. They did select Kelvin Smith who might have been a nice late round pick for youth at middle linebacker. They also might convert Abraham Wright to outside linebacker to help first. Pope and Spragan are solid backups so I think they just didn't need a linebacker right now.

I'm not going to say SHOULD have, but it would have been a good pick.

Yea I'm sick of free agency ruining the legacy of great players. I just thank God that Marino didn't go anywhere else.

I hear you bro, I miss the old school players like you mentioned Marino, Walter Sweetness Payton one of the best runners this game ever saw. They were class acts.

I still think Quinn should have been the pick, but I would have been completely fine with drafting Willis. I think he will be a very solid starter for the next decade for the Niners, I can't say the same about Ginn for us. LB may not be a "value" position in the draft, but when you can draft a game changer like Willis, it's worth a high pick.

Relax we will draft James Laurenitis in next years draft :D
