I'll just do 2 posts for the price of 1 here. I was in the stands that day too and I couldn't believe how quiet it was. EVERYONE after that game thought that season was over. You know the rest.
I can't believe Jake Scott's INT in the 1971 AFC title game has not even been mentioned.
Dick Anderson, not Jake Scott. One of the great moments in the history of the Orange Bowl. It cemented our first Super Bowl berth. Hankies and toppled Colts everywhere. You couldn't hear one word from the person next to you.
I realize that recency always dominates lists like this. But it's laughable that we care about insignificant plays from insignificant eras of the franchise, as opposed to truly defining moments from the early '70s. For example, let's say the Miami Heat lose Lebron, lose Pat Riley, and become irrelevant for the next 3 decades. Are we really going to be sitting here in 2044, naming great plays from a losing or mediocre season as the most memorable moments in franchise history, as opposed to something from the Big 3 era, or that Wade/Shaq title year? It would be pathetic but I suppose it's possible.
