This final four might be seen as three-quarters depressing to the Dolphins, with the Colts, Vikings and Saints personifying what the NFL has become and what the Dolphins decidedly are not.

This is a quarterback's league now, and Manning/Favre/Brees are masters of the quick strike ``chunk yards'' Tony Sparano spent so much of 2009 bemoaning the lack of.

I think what a lot of people don't realize is most of these elite passing teams are driven by veteran QB's. Henne is going to be going into his 3rd year. A lot of these "chunk yards" are created by precise timing and knowing a hole in the defense that they've seen thousands of times.

that's retarded. Miami had both the saints and the colts beat this year. it wasn't the quick strike that was beating them either. and it was the ****ty defense that let them come back...

What an awful title. I refuse to read this story if the writer can't construct one sentence.

Thanks - couldn't have said it better - I know what blows chunks and it isn't the O...

Brees, Favre and Manning have been in the league a while now so you'd understand their success. Sanchez is a game manager as a rookie which is fine since the Jets have a good defense and running game.

What's the article writer's point? The Phins need a veteran instead of a young QB? They had him in CP but he got hurt.

He said the Dolphins emphasized the running game and defense. The most notable things the defense emphasized was how susceptible it was to big plays and folding in the 4th quarter.

The writer's point is that the Dolphins need a more open up to date offense. The writer is missing that Chad Henne is not ready for that many reads, and he needs to develop more touch on his passes. As Henne matures into the role, we should see a more open game plan.

It's not a sentence, it's a headline. Headlines are limited by column width and most headlines are unable to follow sentence structure. The trick is to convey the contents of the article in an finite number of spaces, or keystrokes. But that headline does hurt my eyes....

The thing that kills this article for me is the following:

Miami would fit nicely on that drought line, with this season the 36th ring-less since the magic of 1972-73.

We won the 1974 Superbowl....He needs to check his facts!!!

Definitely. Our offense was pretty good considering we were without our two best players for most of the season. When you're defense is getting shredded by Vince Young and Mark Sanchez, there's no way you can say the offense is the problem.

Henne is somewhat amazing really when you look over our weaponry... If you give him time he does some nice things...
