Most overrated player ever!

Goin Deep if you are disturbed by this thread so much, DON'T post in it and don't ruin it for everyone else. There are a lot of new members on this forum and more coming every day, so if they don't see it, then they can't be held liable.

Not only that, you were so against the fact that Montana was overrated, that's all you basically were...and you provided NOTHING to back up why. If you can't bring anything to a thread, just don't respond.

Please act respectful and don't post if you really don't want to have a part in the conversation, because it sure looked like you didn't. Did NY Fin fan come over and kick your dog??? I don't think so.

Yep, Goin Deep just got, "JACKED UP."

My vote goes for Terry Bradshaw....amazing team...good, not great qb

I would agree with you on this, but I don't think Bradshaw gets that much respect to begin with, therefore making him unable to be considered 'overrated'.

I almost feel bad for the guy. He was called 'dumb' while he was playing, is given zero credit for the 4 rings those teams won, and is largely considered to be an innocent bystander to his team's sucesses. Many of the players who played with him have since gone on record as basically saying that they won those Super Bowls in spite of him, not because of him.

... I see your point, I just don't think he was that 'highly rated' to begin with.

Why should I have to back up why I think Montana is not overrated? Uhm lets see, 4 SB rings...273 tds, 139 ints, 92.3 passer rating. Is that good enough?

It's a start.;)

Im kinda blown away. Brady over rated? If anything hes under rated. He won 2 SBs with no RB and no great WR. I cant think of the last guy to that .....much less twice. The third SB he won he had a running game but that game turned into a QB duel at the end and he stepped up big time. The guy is great...not good....hes great. Sorry I hate the Pats as much as any of you but quit being homers. 3 SBs in 4 years with medium talent. The guy is a gamer period and youd take him on your team right now.

Jim Kelly isnt over rated either. The guy led a no huddle offense to 4 SBs. I hated him and the Bills but he was one tough MFer.

Montana over rated? Have you even seen him play? Did you ever see him play at all?? The guy was a surgeon. He was an MVP before he even had Rice so please dont give me that one. The only reason the system he was in worked is bc he was the perfect QB for it. Mobile, quick thinking , accurate as hell. You couldnt rattle the guy.....he was ice.

Brady is way over, his run of luck will end this year when he meets his destiny, SABAN!

All I gotta say to that is 420 TDs.

If Dan wasn't required to carry the damn team, maybe teams wouldn't have teed off on him, giving him injury after injury, sapping the mobility he once had in his younger 20's. There'd be no question that Marino was the best of all time, all around.

I have a game from Dan's rookie year vs Montana. Two plays that come to mind back to back.

Marino drops back, sees the rush coming so he starts rolling out to his left, two Niners are chasing him to the sideline and right before they get to him he FIRES off bullet while running left, throwing across his body for a 12 yard gain while the CB was all over the WR.

Next play, Dan drops back, doesn't see anyone open so he pump fakes it and proceeeds to beat Ronnie Lott for a 12 yard RUN.

Dude was the real deal. He wouldn't have been required to be a statue for a good chunk of his career. Montana lived by getting rid of the ball fast on short routes to HALL OF FAMERS. He wasn't needed to hold the ball that extra second and get ripped for doing so.

Dan Marino was a hell of a lot better player than Montana, talented, bigger, stronger, and not even that much less mobile when he was actually young and healthy =/ he just had half the team in his prime.

Put Danny on those 49er teams and he comes away with at least 6.

How can you say Brady is overrated? He has won three SB's in four years. 'Nuff said.

I'm happy knowing that Dan could throw the ball in a way no other player has been able to duplicate.

Vick? Vick is a one man team. He has carried that team and they made it to the NFC championship game. So he likes to run, so what. Is it wrong for a QB to use whatever he has to to win a game? Shame on him for being quick and nimble.

Most of the hype has died down now but i still think that Portis is way overrated.

Atlanta got there on there Defense.

Its sad when you are the QB and have more rushing yards than passing yards week after week.

His release/throwing motion is something other QBs can only dream of.
