Most positive season prediction article I’ve seen

So we play 7 teams (8 games because Bills x 2) that went to the playoffs last year. In 7 of those 8 games we are at home.

Over the past 3 seasons the Dolphins have the 4th best home record in the NFL. They’re behind only Buffalo, Eagles, and Chiefs. We’ve won nearly 75% of all home games since 2022.

If we can stay on par and win 5-6 of those 8 games, (tough ask I know), then winning 6 out of 8 games against the likes of the Pats, Jets, Falcons, Saints, Colts, and Panthers would give us 11 or 12 wins on the season.

I predicted that we’d win 10-11 games this season and I think it’s not only possible, but likely… if…IF.. Tua stays healthy.
I agree with you, the floor with Tua playing 17 games and the oline only having one starter out at a time, if those 2 things happen I don’t see any way we can win less than 10-11 games, unless some catastrophic injuries happen on defense and even then I think we can squeeze out 10 wins with our cupcake schedule.

2 starters out on the oline and I think the offense will really struggle to run the ball and give Tua enough time to go thru his progressions

I wouldn’t call it a “cupcake” schedule. Yes, we rank about 20th in terms of opponents records from last season, but even then the team with the toughest strength of schedule (Giants) have opponents that combined for only one more win on average. Dolphins are at .474 and Giants are at .574.

Also one of the home games is vs the Commanders in Madrid, I think the Dolphins will still have the fan advantage because of the Dolphins popularity in Europe but we will be missing true home field advantage for that game. I think that will be the roughest stretch of the season, unlike the OP I see the Dolphins losing on a short week to Buffalo in week 3, so if we are going to squeeze one out vs the Bills I think it will be at home.

Thats also the second game of our most brutal stretch of the season, home vs Ravens vs Bills then “home” vs the Commanders. Hope everyone is healthy going into that stretch, as always that will define our season and tell us if we are frauds again.

I forgot about the Madrid game. Stealing a home game from us is discouraging because we play so well at home.

I believe we are at Miami against the Ravens, no?

We're 1-5 across the pond

Commanders win the Superbowl lol.
Love the optimistic prediction but no.
Too much depends on the lines with paul and with A.J and Daniels coming off serious Injuries.
Grant needs to hit the field and play really well.
Our secondary is just plain bad.

If the 1st 2 weeks turn out this way it would be a wonderful start and gift to the diehards but after that none of this is happening unless we are all going to fantasy island for the entire NFL season.

History says expect everything you have been getting since the final whistle of 1972 and you will know if it ever changes because it will be a fact, not a hope.

Yeah looks about right however swap the chargers and first bills game assuming Tua can stay healthy all year.

Also happy Father’s Day to Josh Allen from Miami

This team is 0-1 with that loss coming against the Chiefs after Tyreek fumbled on a drive that would have had the score 14-3 or 14-7 before the half instead of 21-0. The final score ended up being 21-14. Regardless, I hate that one of our home games will be in Spain.

Well, the Dolphins won Super Bowls in 1973 and 1974 and went to the SB in 1982 and 1984. So I’ll take those results.

But, I refuse to believe that what happened to this team prior to 2022 has any bearing on what happens this season.

Do you know how massive that "IF" is? Even if Tua stays healthy all year long?

4-14 against winning teams. That kinda overrides the 4th best home record IMO. I mean, its great they're 4th in that stat, but IMO its slightly diminished since we all know its because they've done a great job of beating sub-500 teams in McD's tenure.

We should consider it a significant improvement if they were to win 4 of those 8...you're asking for 6? That would be great, but.

There's another stat that prevents optimism in this area...#32 in most recent playoff win. That speaks of a dysfunctional organization...loudly.

But I mean, if you can ignore all that negative stuff and just focus on the positives, all's well I guess?

Your logic doesn't float though. Being up 21-0 makes a team play you completely differently than they would if it were a 1 score game. That's why you just count wins and losses, not who was leading when, and by how much.

Would it have been clearer if I said "all-time"? And for the record, I've hated every mothereffing time the Phins have had to make that trek. It's b.s. , a bad ju-ju curveball for whatever iteration of the Phins team has to slog across the pond, just so Steve Ross can get another quid pro quo Super Bowl at Hard Rock. Throws off the routine, the Dolphins have never seemed to figure it out ( which is pretty stupid for a team that has had to do it SIX times), not a fan. They've got their own friggin futbol over there. Everybody off my lawn, grrrr! :chuckle:
