The most surprising stat of the day

Dolphin fans loathed the o-line, called them the turnstiles, swiss cheese....allowed more penetration than...(ok I'll stop there)....

The Dolphins Offensive line gave up ZERO sacks...I'll repeat that.

ZERO SACKS!

I'd like to add to that... Denver was 1 of 12 on 3rd down conversions!

The O-Line looked great in pass protection. But I have to give props to the D.

EDIT: GAH! Sorry about the double post. Finheaven is getting so much traffic and I got click happy after I made my edit. Sorry about that.

Give all the props to the D, but credit is deserved on the OL too because there was a lot of blitzing going on by the Denver linebackers and they held them out long enough for Gus to get rid of the ball.

Gus' arm, btw, is a pretty darn good arm. He played an AMAZING game I thought considering the preseason he had.

Saban gets a damn game ball for making the latest changes to the OL and for the attitude he has instilled in these players about managing the bottom half. It would have been the EASIEST thing in the world for this team to tank when the offense kept getting penalty after penalty for false starts, holding, etc. Last year, they would have. This team kept battling even with the penalties and the turnovers.

If we can keep up that type of defensive play we will win a lot of games.

Speaking of whacky Week 1 stats, Rian Lindell right now is the #1 kicker in the NFL. Makes me sick and happy at the same time.

I still can't believe that. Also nice to see Booker with a long TD.

Check this out! ZERO SACKS!

As everyone is celebrating a GREAT WIN by the Fins, one statistic sticks out in my mind that should make everyone happy: 0 sacks by the Broncos. BIG FAT GOOSE EGG! Nada. Zilch. Zippo. Got it? NO SACKS!

Give it to the O-Line and Gus' presence. Miami won in virtually every statistical category (unfortunately, including penalties). I was a little PO'd by the penalties, but I think Saban really got onto them coming into the second half. Props to the Fins! Good win and no sacks!

Im not sure what impressed me more..the OL the Def or Gus...Totally impressed with the Fins as a whole...

So much for the "rebuilt defensive line" in Denver.

That is what you get for overpaying and depending on loser, castoffs to stop the run and rush the passer.

God...I am enjoying this too much.

The OL had a mediocre game today...there was no running room for the backs...they allowed no sacks, but really did not give Frerotte a lot of time. They have to improve and they HAVE to stop the stuuuuupppiiiddd penalties...

I was gonna drop a brick they very first play of the game. Hand off to Ronnie, who stops and sees a sea of Broncos coming at him. And goes down in a pile. I was all, Uhho, here we go again. Another year of this garbage. But then, that was it.

Except for all the absurd penalties in the first half (jitters???) It was a great performance in protecting Gus. Now, if only they could open some holes for RB.

But hey, Rome wasn't built in a day. More then happy with the W.
