I searched for this, but didn't see anyone ask this, so here goes: I was thinking the forums would look a lot less cluttered if there weren't so many "moved threads" notices on them (I think I counted about 6 out of 27 just now, but might be off by a few). IMHO, a better place for them would be for all of them to go to the bottom of the forum, give them their own page, or give people the option of not having to see them (a "remove move threads" button, for instance). I don't know if anyone else finds them annoying, but it's just my $.02 worth.
Thanks.

If you do think it might be a worthwhile idea to pursue, I wouldn't mind posting a poll to see if people have any preferences.

We would like to remove the redirects altogether. We're sure that some do it intentionally so that they can ride the redirect from the Dolphins forum but, most of the people who post off-topic threads in the Miami forum haven't got the mental ability to figure out where their thread went without the redirects, and when they see that it's not where they left it, rather than go find it, they'll just start a new thread,..... in the wrong forum of course..

I don't think we have the capability to do what you're requesting....I'll check with the other staff members and find out for certain though.

If they restart the same thread couldn't you just give them a week off to figure it out? Maybe have a paragraph saved explaining why they were given time off that you could quick past in a pm so that when they get back they can figure out what happened. Maybe if it became known that you get time off for posting in the wrong forum not so many people would do it. You could vary the time off depending on how knew the user is since a first time user might not have figured out all the forums yet. My guess is that you are right about some people posting in the wrong forum on purpose but I doubt it will change unless there are some reprocusions for doing it.

We try to avoid banning members if we can so, right now, we're being liberal with the rule....
When we think sufficient time has passed for everyone to get used to the new forums we will start enforcing the rule a little tighter. Repeated posting in the wrong forum will eventually get somone banned ....forever maybe, depending on how many times we have to tell the same person not to do it...

That's all I can ask for- that it be considered.
