Jacksonville Jaguars important notes

Couple of Notes on the Jaguars offensively

- Jaguars 22th in league in passing
- Jaguars 4th in league in rushing
- Jaguars 11th in the league in turnovers

Couple of notes on the Defense

- 3rd best defense in the league
- 5th best against the pass
- 6th best against the run

Pretty much we are on a string this week. Ronnie Brown will likely miss the game so we are now relying offensively on Joey Harrington, offensive line and our wide receivers. If we are succesful at completing downs and keeping their defense on the field most of the time then we can win this game defensively. They have a good rushing offense but we have a very tough defense that will hold them down for nothing over 15 points. If you ask me, who wins then this is a tough one. Both teams are evenly matched and they are playing in florida.

Keys to win

-Win the turnover battle
-Harrington needs to show up and prove himself
-Offensive Blocking
-Time of Possesion
-Outstanding defensive play

Since Joey has struggled with accuracy his whole career and Jacksonville leads the league in opponents passing completion % at 50.4, it could be a very, very long day. The Defense is probably going to have to do it all by themselves.........yet again.

However with 10 days off, the age factor is one we don't have to worry about and I think it actually benefits us more than most teams because of our age. When our guys are rested, there is no group that is better in the nfl.

Well smart guy, I'm sure the coaching staff knows this. Thats why they are going to prepare for this game and see what works and what doesn't. Joey's accuracy may not be the best but we are winning now.

We should get Will Allen back for this game and that only helps our secondary. I really don't see the Jags putting up more than 14 points on us. That should be the number the offense is looking for. I don't want to see us foregoing field goals on 4th downs because if we have a shot at points, we need to take it. You go for it when either A) You're getting beat or B) You have no defense. Our defense is great and I expect them to hold Jacksonville to around 10 points.

The defense might have to put the most effort but this is a defensive game but its also and offensive game because we need to put points on the board. Perhaps Morris shows but we are notorious to run the ball bad when we play against a strong run defense. We beat the bears defense so we can have a tough win again.

Okay, knowing that Joey isn't going to have an easy time of it and against anyone but the worst our offense has done nothing, what exactly are they going to do to put points on the board?

What they're going to do is pray that our D can score once or Olindo doesn't miss anything under 50.

It will all come down to which defense can set their offense up in position to get points. The defenses on each side should dominate the oppositions offense and I expect a defensive struggle that comes down to a last minute field goal. I just pray Mare can hit it!

One of the reasons Joey posted such a high QB rating today and why he did so well was because he knew so much about this team. Simms stated that Joey said he knew the weaknesses of each corner, who would take chances, who wouldnt, ect. So he exploited them and won us the game.

My hope, nay, prayer is that Joey takes the next ten days to study game film on the Jaguars. To become familiar with every in and out of their defense so he can pick them apart like he did his former team.

Thats Peyton Manning style right there.

this game reminds me so much off the Bears game, It almost sounds like we have no chance of beating the Jags. All i hope is we get a W,and I dont care how I just hope we win....

The way our defense is playing, we can beat any one.

id liek to add a key:

Olindo Mare...should be a tight game and could be a FG fest...if Mare is off his game we could be in trouble

Joey has been very good in the red zone this year and that's where we are going to beat Jacksonville, through the air. I understand what you're saying because I believe this game comes down to a late FG. If Ronnie is out of the game, or even if he plays, we should be attacking through the air in the red zone. Olindo needs to be perfect next Sunday because this will be a tight game.

Another key is that we can ill-afford to start the way we did against Jacksonville today. The defense needs to show up at the start and not wait 10 minutes to get going.

Right now their D is pretty banged up. They were able to beat the Giants riding high on emotion, but they're a far cry from full strength right now. They'll still be a challenge, but the middle fo their D is missing a lot of run-stopping power, and their top DB is done for the year now, too. As long as we gameplan smart, I dont think we'll have to put too much pressure on the D to win this one for us.

Of course, we'll know more about how well they've adjusted by how they play on Sunday.
