How abut the following.

After watching McFadden today run a 4.27 or so it is no question in my mind that Dallas wants him. with that said.

1# Give Dallas the 1st overall pick for their 2 1st round picks and Bobby Carpenter / Spears. Both former 1st round picks by Parcells. Carpenter is burried on the deph chart and is not the type of middle backer in Phillips type of 3-4 defense. Add that along with the signing of Zach Thomas and it appears that he is expendable. Spears a huge DE that started out well but his producion has dropped is really burried on the depth charts there. Add the fact that Dallas signed Tank Williams and gave a huge extention to another DE that took Spears spot he is another player that they would look to drop off.

2# we trade JT and the 2 picks from Dallas to Detroit for Rodgers and their 1st round pick. With that pick we take Gholsten or or the next best OLB on the board. Gholsten should be there.

3# Trade the 1st 2nd round pick to Atlanta for D Hall.

In the end our defense is pretty much set. The corners are set. The front 3 is pretty set and young. we have a good core set of LB's and our secondary is off and running.

What do you guys think?

It doesn't matter what we think.
Jerry Jones has already said on 2 or 3 occasions that he isn't going to trade for Miami's #1 pick.

#1 Adam S. said Dallas is offering three picks and Barber for our # 1 (I don't believe it)

# 2 That trade would be one of the worst in history

# 3 The Giants offered the # 31 for Hall and they want another pick.

1.The trade does not work for Dalls with Barber going. It is attractive only if McFadden and Barber is the 1/2 punch

#2 what makes it the worse trade i history. Dallas gets the missing part of their offense and lose 2 players that thry don't need nore want.
The 1st overall pick is worth a lot more then you think. Giants nearly gave up 1/2 their franchise to get Manning so I don't know what your talking about.

Your wrong, if they moved up to get McFadden, I can't see them keeping Barber. Why would they keep two starting running backs that will cost them a lot of money? Barber is going to want a huge deal. Barber would have to be moved if they trade up for McFadden. I can't see McFadden and Barber co-existing on the same team.

Dallas won't trade with us if we have the # 1 pick, that is why in a SEPARATE trade we need to deal or # 1 to Atlanta.

Dallas will not take the #1 spot because it will cost too much financially, and will take too many draft choices and players.

At the #3 spot the deal becomes more reasonable financially (bonus money) and less draft choices and players. Personally their 2 #1's and a 2nd will do. No Barber etc., he stays in Dallas, and that is what they want.

I think your wrong and it would be a huge mistake by dallas to give up Barber.

1 he is a fan favorite
2. Mcfadde CANT be depended on to be a inside runner
3. you NEVER bet the farm on a rookie
4. In this day and age you need 2 running backs

I agree
Barber stays in Dallas
BUT #3 does not gaurantee McFadden.
Think about it your Atlanta and you are building a new team from scratch
Mcafadded is sitting there ar 3 - YOU TAKE HIM and the you fill teh QB spot with the other 3-4 QB's that are about equal. Brohm / Flacco / Henne all are equal and will be very good QB's in the NFL.

So really everything depends on how much Atlanta wants Ryan.

did they say which pick the 3rd one is?

If we get barber, trade him to acontending team for a late 1st cuz hes goin to warrant major money next year and if we dont wnat 2 big RBs with big contracts 1 has to go.

We can end up wiht the 22, 28, another late, 32nd, 57, 64, and the dallas' 3rd pick unless its for the 09 draft.

waht a 1st day.

If it was only that simple but if that came to pass wouldn't be all that bad however I doubt Rogers has the attitude necessary to play for this regime. He's out of shape even for him and he's not consistent enough down to down. He takes plays off. After all, that's a lot of wheeling and dealing and I doubt as someone else said that the Falcons price for Hall would be that cheap even for a malcontent.

Totally disagree. For one Barber is a restricted free agent and is going to want a huge contract. So if the Cowboys traded up to #1 to get McFadden, their going to have to pay him a huge contract too for being the #1 pick. I can't see Jerry Jones paying two guys at the same position to huge deals because it will cause salary cap problems and only one can start. I just can't see that happening. I know you need two running backs nowadays, but its going to be too costly to keep Barber and trade up to get McFadden. I think its one or the other, not both, unless Barber agrees to a one year deal and they let him be an unrestricted free agent next year.

well boys maybe , just maybe we better take mcfadden and use f/a to address the dline . ok bad idea but if we could trade ricky and draft mcfadden then we will have covered our butts at rb . although i am eaning on drafting cb alib talib and then get a rb in rd 2 . all this fix the defense is going to get us is well nothing because our offense is still horible.

What are you Barbers agent? Who says he's going to want a huge deal and won't play with McFadden? He started like one game last year and that was the playoff game against the Giants other then that he split carries with Jones the entire season so what makes you think he wouldn't do it again? Barber agreeing to a one year deal?...He's already on contract,he doesn't need to agree on anything.
