Our coaching staff is playing scared like the Wanstache regime. It's a recipe for disaster.
We have 2 fat cat coordinators who are content with mediocrity and probably resent thier demotions back to coordinators.

Why do we blitz on 3rd downs when it never works? Our sacks come from rushing four/getting a good rush with help from decent coverage. We always get burned on 3rd down blitzes because they are completely ineffective. Our blitzing is so horrendous this year. I pray we never blitz a linebacker for the rest of the year. Ironically, our secondary is solid..except for getting exploited by our sucky 3rd down blitzes.

Our play calling on offense is so bad. We're coaching scared. We're trying not to lose. We're not trying to win. I knew we could lose if we didn't put up atleast 20 points against Houston. Thier O isn't that bad, but scoring 15 on that D is a joke. I'm gonna try to avoid stating the obvious, but going for the field goal? Cmon, Im sure the coaches used a probablity formula, but this team is beneath banking on 2 pt. conversions. We should have went for that. And I'm not going to even comment on the 2 pt. call.

Daunte had another good statistical game with bad real life relevance. Some sacks were on him, most were on the crappy O-line. But our play calling is so aweful. Why continue to play-action on first down when we end up with 2nd and 15 so often? We have a bad running game, due to the lack of play calling and blocking. Why play action then? Their not gonna bite ! We're gonna continue to average 2nd and 15, and 3rd and 13.5!

You can't blame our team sucking thus far on Daunte. Not when our coaching has been so bad. We get out-coached on EVERY SINGLE break in game action, be it the start of a new quarter, coming off a t.o., or the 2 minute warning. We get outcoached after every break! Its a disgrace!

Our team is a mess..and I don't think Joey Harrington could clean it up. We didn't have one turn-over today. Our linebackers are playing bad(Zack's not so bad, but he is being dragged down by the corp.), our line stinks, and the play calling and coaching schemes are getting out-done by the opposition week in and week out. I know Saban's buddies with his coordinators, but someone needs to light a fire under thier butts. They're going through the motions. They're not trying to win, just tyring not to lose. If Daunte is unfit to play, then pull him. But there's way too many holes in this organization to put it all on him...our problems are much deeper, and he is not THAT bad. Man, I just hope this is rock bottom.

feels good to vent...even if noone is reading my poor, crappy thread.

its pretty much clear after the Texans beat us today we are definetly one of the 2 worst team in the entire league. So disgusting especially what we have in offense and defense for that matter. we should have scored at least 3 touchdowns today and the texans should have just scored 10 pts. Its pretty sad when we didnt even commit any turnovers but actually got 2 turnovers ourselves, then to lose the game just amazes me. Well I still have hope but dang this is seriously rock bottom right now.

good post man i completely agree, we all need a little venting

Lemme help with the venting.
First off, Mularkey is STILL working for Buffalo..isnt it obvious? The play calling on offense is offensive. I dont give a rats behind how great he was in pittsburgh..The game has passed him by I guess. Can anyone answer why these calls are coming in?? Bring me back Linehan. The secondary could not stop receivers when it HAD to be done.
Our defensive line is old. I have said it. They dont inspire confidence when theyre on the field. Zach is always there though. Where is Jason Allen, our first pick??
Ive got more...I just need to breathe...

I agree. There are some sacks that are Daunte's fault. But the offensive line is looking like the 04 squad without as many penalties. But even the penalties are starting to pile up. Ronnie only got 14 carries and we ran the shotgun for 45 plays. Ridiculous. We must run the football! When you take a guy number 2 overall in the draft, you should build the team around that guy. He should be getting 20-25 carries a game. And a lot of those carries should be in the 4th quarter. The offense is terrible. The Texans were last in the league in points allowed coming into this weekend and we only score 15 points. Pathetic! And it wasn't because of bad field position. Its just completely uncalled for playing that poorly on the offensive side of the ball.

And defensively, not bad. The Texans aren't bad offensively. We shut down the run and the secondary played decently. I agree Sethdaddy in that the blitzing is terrible. There hasn't been 1 blitz that even came close to sniffing the QB. Either stop doing it or come up with a better scheme in which to do it.

Thanks guys. I may have been a Daunte supporter, but I can honestly say, I wish our problems lied simply with one man. Its much deeper than that.
Here's to hoping we've achieved rock bottom!:ffic:
There is still alot of season left. If we hit rock bottom earlier last year, we may have made the playoffs!

I agree with all of the stuff in the quote above. After that, you just went off. :D

In fact, I think you have the pulse of the team. Those blitzes on 3rd down are NOT getting it done, Miami is playing to avoid losing, and Saban should have went for that 4th and 2 instead of kicking a field goal to go up 6 to 3. A measley field goal doesn't send a message that you want to win in that situation. :shakeno:

Who are we trading for draft picks next year?

Maybe we'll be bad enough to draft that tackle from Wisconsin in the first round.

daunte played well today. there is no way joey does anywhere near as well. hes getting better each week. its amazing that some of the people on here are like "well 2 of the sacks were dauntes fault, so he should be benched". how can you be so dumb? you think qbs dont get sacked? the o line is horrendous. should have been more sacks but daunte made some impressive plays to get away.

I agree with your assesment of the coaching staff, but today I noticed with all the changes in the coaching staff and all the player movement we are actually an expansion team just not as good

I agree...the thing that bothered me the most today was the blitzing..
On the Texans 1st TD drive they had a 3rd down and 8 at there own 32..and I was thinking "please don't blitz please" and what happens the Dolphins bring 7 people the 4 D-lineman, Zach, Bell and Hill, and the Taxens easily convert to Moulds for 28 yards then they went on and scored.
And I admit our line is not playing well but Ronnie Brown is not scaring the D at all, he's running like he has lead in his shoes..and he only sees what directly ahead of him...but he's a force in the passing game...I'm exited to get Sammie Morris back..I'd wouldn't mind Sammie splitting carries with Ronnie.

You're nuts. Ronnies the best weapon on the team. He's a tackle breaker and he's got speed. He rarely gets pushed back and with this o-line that's amazing. They need to give him more carries, not less.
