I've read alot about people talking about Mularkey and his O, I'm wondering if he or Saban are going to focus on the scheme he used in Pittsburgh. If so, which I hope for...then expect the trap to become a major staple of the offense. OG footwork will be vital, and Hadnot may see himself at Center, which it looked like was going to happen anyhow. We'll see more boots and rollouts, more mis-directions and counters. It's an exciting scheme to bring in IF they use it. Watch the Steelers if you want to see what I'm talking about....they still use alot of it.

One additional thought...can you say Hutchinson! :dolphins:

I am most excited to see how our line develops with both Mularkey and Houck. The Steelers usually have an excellent line. One of our biggest problem areas may be fixed.

Good Point about watching the Steelers today... I too heard them say this morning on the radio that this is pretty much still Mularkey's offense with some slight alterations.. They said Cowher really liked the offense that Mularkey ran and it was his decision to ask the new OC to incorporate most of what Mike did..

I think Mularkey will adjust his offense to gel with Houck's. I'm sure they are both more then aware that you don't mess with the masters work ;p

I agree. Not only will Houck's influence be key from a respectability of what he has done with the OL, but also, Houck will set him straight on what the talent will allow.

Gibbs in DC, wanted to run the same ol counter-tre with Portis and the OL guys, but it didnt suit them. Zone blocking is what Portis was better suited for (Denver's style) and the OL thrived.

Plus, Linehan seemed to mix in power running, with pulling OL, and misdirection mixed in as well. I dont think a significant style change will occur, outside of the play calling and the go to favorites, etc...but wouldnt be surprised if both playbooks were very close, if not, identical just the % of what play was called may be different.
