There are many folks on this forum that don't give Shawn Murphy props....he has obviously worked hard.
Here's to you Shawn Murphy.......nice work buddy, keep it up!!!!
He is STILL starting above Indukwe and Alleman.......can he get a break on here?
It's good to see him become a camp starter....it means the potential they saw in him during the draft must be coming to fruition.
NICE WORK!! :woot:

I think they are rewarding all the work he put in.

Today he was with the second teamers. Sparano said not to take this into account because they are trying different players against the first teamers. Also Donald Thomas panked Louis Ellis today and I think we are in for a nice battle at RG.

Where did you get the Thomas blasting ellis update?

Murphy is obviously commited to become a great player. He has gained weight and at the same time trimmed body fat. He has gotten stronger in the offseason. The guy is a keeper...

His fathers pro career started of shaky as well but then he turned it on and became a great baseball player.

Its in his blood to be an athlete.

I think murphy will be a backup this year and he willcome a starter sometime in the future. Like i said the guy is commited to getting better and thats very important.

Especially if Donald Thomas can't stay healthy, I won't be too worried to have Murphy step in there.

Well if Murphy is showing up it does 2 great things for us.
First the interior of our offensive line is a real question mark not only with Thomas out but also with the injury history of the starters we have there. You can bet that one or more of the a starters will probably go down this year and we will need some quality players behind them which Murphy's presence can provide. This area may not be the concern as much as it once was. Now the weakness will shift back on the defensive line being stout enough and our seconday being so young and in experienced.
Second if the Murphy pick pans out it shows we have a top notch scouting department at least we did last year. I know very few scouting reports or talking heads had Murphy rated as high in the draft as we took him. This shows that our scouting guys know more than they do. Many of our picks were booed in this years draft by many fans including my self. Alot of those rookies are "appearing" to pan out "so" far and surprise us.
While I might still argue that they might have been available in a lower round if they produce then that is the important part and really only thing that counts at the end of the day.

i was worried he'd turned out like another joe toledo, but i'm glad he's on the right track.

if he or any of his relatives check out this site, let it be known that everyone is rooting for him, keep up the good work ! May the best player play, best of luck to shawn
