The Dolphins "fight song" is historic but, REALLY BAD. Then there are other stadium songs like a few from Queen.

Happy with history and what else is played or, have a better idea?

I just want to hear we are the champions after we win a superbowl or whatever damn song lol. Never ever want to hear gary glitter again.
Just doesn't seem to motivate me much to hear some guy that was arrested multiple times for kiddie porn and child sexual abuse.
Stronger always sounds good

Is the fight song hokey as hell? Yep.

I still loved singing at the top of my drunken, off-key voice as I walked out of Heinz Field last year. The Steelers fans around me weren't quite as enthusiastic about it for some reason.

Dump the Jimmy Buffet garbage, I feel like I am at a spaghetti dinner at the local retirement home listening to that. It's a modern day gladiator league...fit the music according. AKA...NOT Jimmy Buffet.

You may not like rap but some eminem stuff like til I collapse, survival are pretty good to get pumped

I love the CCR's tune "Up Around The Bend" used in Remember The Titans. That guitar to start just get's ya PUMPED.

FIRST OFF: i am not a jimmy buffet fan. a couple songs here and there, but, i do not own a buffet cd or lp.

HOWEVER..............., the dolphins [as well as other teams] should play ONLY music from their area. the dolphins SHOULD play music that originates from bands or artists who are from FLORIDA or the MIAMI area. and that is a whole LOT of great music to choose from.

and one thing i have never understood. it irks me when i see or hear people say they dont like a tune or band because they are "old". good songs are good songs!! who gives a crap what year it written?

being tired of a song because it gets played to much is one thing, that i understand. but bashing something because of when it was written is something i have never been able to understand.

and, this is why music has taken such a huge dive in talent and substance. the reason all the "old" bands like the rolling stones, pink floyd, lynyrd skynyrd, zz top, credence clearwater, cream, jimi hendrix, janis joplin, john mellenkamp, thin lizzy, ufo, led zeppelin, bad company, neil young, santana, journey, and the zillions of other rock and country and soul and r&b [the real r&b like sam cook, smokey robinson, not the current glob of nonsense labeled as r& b today] music and bands that you hear everyday on the radio, many times over, some still selling out stadiums and clubs and selling albums who have been together dozens of years, some as far back as 50 years, have music that you hear on juke boxes in EVERY bar and they ALL looked to the past for their inspiration, education and sound.

THAT is the big difference of why those bands are legends and will be heard another 100 years from now and snoop dog and lady ga-ga and byonce and the hundreds of current rock bands who all sound exactly the same wont be on juke boxes in 50 years. they will be forgotten and their albums wont continue to be selling gold and platinum YEARLY like the "older" legends, long after some have died or disbanded or have been going on strong for 30, 40, 50 years like the stones, lynyrd skynyrd and queen and pink floyd and journey, bad company, etc... have. [most of the bands/artists of the last 15-20 years have been throw aways. popular this month, long gone the next]. who over the age of 25 remember milli vanilli? they sold MILLIONS of cd's!!

those legends are all so great and have lasted BECAUSE THEY DIDNT PUT A YEAR OR A DATE ON MUSIC!! they went back and learned about the ones who came before them, and some of it from genres outside of what they are known for, example: zepplin with the blues, the rolling stones were all BIG country music fans as well as blues guys who were around 40-50 years before they were playing. lynyrd skynyrd, ccr, zz top all were inspired by the country, blues, r&b, mountain music. allman bros were BIG jazz fans. that was YEARS before their time. ufo, queen, the guitar masters like ulric roth, ynqwie malmsteen, michael schenker, edward van halen were BIG TIME influenced by CLASSICAL MUSIC!!! they went back and LEARNED and added it to THEIR sound making them unique. and its why all the bands and artists from the late 50's throught the 60's and up through the mid 70's ALL SOUNDED DIFFERENT!! YOU COULD EASILY TELL THEM ALL APART!!

now, all you hear from todays bands and artists are oh man, that $hit is old, i'm not listening to that!!! not stepping outside from whatever genre their in or playing anyone or any style thats outside the last 5 years AND YOUNG PEOPLE not wanting to hear anything that THEIR FRIENDS dont listen to or wasnt recorded within the past 3 years. its why we have the garbage we have today and NO legends. nothing around now that will stand the test of time. yeah, some guy at his bingo game in the old folks home 50 years from now who was born in 1995 will say, "yeah, i saw brittany spears in 2004, but, there wont be anything of her spinning anywhere or video'd anywhere. they will never be TRUE GREATS like elvis, the beatles, stones, floyd, skynyrd, ccr, kiss, jimi, cream, etc...., the ones from the GOLDEN AGE of music when black and white people went to the same concerts and you saw sly stone and the staple singers with humble pie and the allman brothers ON THE SAME STAGE!!!

OK, my rant on the "old music" thing is done, and i do hope you younger musicians and music enthusiasts will look back, back before fiddy cent and lady g-ga and even u2 and pearl jam. WAY back to the legends and TRUE masters and see all the great music you have been missing. A GOOD SONG IS A GOOD SONG. A GOOD BAND IS A GOOD BAND NO MATTER WHAT YEAR IT IS FROM.

its why STAIRWAY TO HEAVEN is the most played song and ALWAYS voted the #1 SONG in the yearly greatest 500 songs of all times the radio stations do every summer. FREEBIRD being the second. not nickle back or the mars volta. weather you like those bands or songs isnt the point. the point is, those guys are who they are and where they are because they were not stagnant and didnt give a rats arse about WHEN a song was written or what generation it was from. they were not scared to listen to something because their homeys dont listen to it or dont like it.

THE DOLPHINS should stick to music from THE miami area and florida. that makes the most sense. and dont stay to one genre, not just rock or hip hop or gloria estefan. play the best of all.

REPRESENT FLA!!!!

The old fight song works fine by me. Play what ever you want during the game but when we score I want the fight song. Reminds me of the good ole days when we were always in the playoffs and contended for the SB most years. Kind of like God bless America. It's timeless.

Our fight song should stay forever , I don't care how campy or goofy it is. Here's another goofy song I always enjoyed at the stadium when we scored, always got the crowd fired up.

When I was younger they always played trick daddy songs and Sam Madison would start dancing on the field also they played who let the dogs out all the time

If you're going to play something to get people pumped up, play some hard rock and not some silly BS like T-Pain or Jimmy Buffett. In reality though, I couldn't care less what songs they play in the stadium as long as we're winning.

The first question that comes to mind when I hear the, "The fight song needs to go!" argument is how old are you? Just a legit question not being a jerk.

Usually it's younger fans who haven't experienced how things were back when the Dolphins were a winning franchise. That fight song used to mean something. It's corny but it's tradition and I love it! :)

I was under the impression that they made a turnaround after the 3-0 start against Atlanta. I actually cried a little after the game LOL. It was the first time in a long time I had that type of confidence in my team. That Sunday is what almost every Sunday used to feel like.
