What was the point of him de-committing a few weeks ago only to turn around and go right back???

Nutt (dumb***) fired Roy Wittke, quarterbacks coach and the man in charge of recruiting Mustain. Mitch read about it in the NEWSPAPER. They didn't even bother to tell him...Mustain became confused about what was going on with the organization and wanted to re-evalutate his options. The only other place he really considered was Notre Dame, and they already have two top freshman QBs coming in.

Didn't they bring in Mustain's HS coach as the new OC or something?

Gus Malzahn, yeah. He led Springdale to a state championship and a top 5 national ranking. I'd much rather have him than Nutt calling the plays. Very happy about that move.

I don't understand Mustain at all...

the kid re-commits without taking any extra visits. I don't even think he had in-home visits, did he? Was this a ploy to try and hire his hs coach the whole time?

I hear that he was mainly interested in Notre Dame & that they refused to take another QB. Also heard the Vols backed off, and that Bama is more interested in Greg McElroy from Texas.

I know he had a poor performance at the Army game, but it seems like his recruitment and the hype would have picked up.

At least I can give Mustain credit for following his heart, roots, etc.

There was an in-home visit yesterday with the new QB coach. Mustain was just afraid of the staff changes going on that he had no idea about when he first committed.

firing the QB coach. And M2 wanted to go to Notre Dame, but they already had 2 QBs, and were saving a scholarship for Sam Young.

He then wanted to go to Tennessee, but they still love Ainge, have one of the top QBs from last year, and are the favorite to get the 3rd Claussen.

He never considered Bama a true contender.

I was at the Army All-American game and Mustain looked horrible!!!! For being the top QB prospect in the country, I expected a much better performance. He over threw about 80% of his throws and held on to the ball way too long.

Jevan Snead looked great and had good mobility. I wonder if he starts as a true freshman with Vince leaving now?

I'll be at the East-West Shrine game this weekend, so I guess I'll put my opinions in the draft forum for that.
