First bear with me, I was on a 7 day cruise and just got back yesterday so I'm still trying to catch up. Here's the way I feel about the Ireland situation.I can see both sides making some good points but in the end Ireland should be let go and here's why. Tell me just one good reason to be scare if we don't have Ireland anymore? How not having him will hurt us? What has he done that makes you feel nobody else could do as good?. Look, I don't blame him for everything that is wrong with our team but some people here want to give him credit for the good and then blame Parcells for all the bad. In the end, Ireland has been directly responsible or at least part responsible for all the players we have and the moves we have made. And how many stars do we have? This NFL today is about play makers and how many do we have? But yet we barely have any money left under the cap. Some people think he had a great draft last year but did he? I like Pouncy but you don't take a center at 15 unless that's all you need.Even Stevenson was drafted in the 2nd round. I like DT and believe he will be a good RB for us but there was no need to trade up into the 2nd round to get him when you can get good RB's in round 3,4 and 5. I do like Clay but what else is there? Lets face it, people don't want to come here and is mostly thanks to him. To me is very easy, when I think about our team with another GM it makes me feel good. I'm not worry about Ireland not being our GM cause he hasn't done anything that someone else couldn't do. If we replace him, the new guy might do better or not. But Ireland has been bad so far so why not change it? We need a spark and he's not giving us that.Let Philbin and a new GM pick the players and I believe we'll be ok again.Ireland has made more bad moves than good ones imo which is the opinion of most fans and media. The few of you that think he's been so great need to open your eyes cause this guys is not leading us to a superbowl. Isntead, he's leading us to an all time low.

Ozzy rules!!

Glad you had a great time on your cruise, but this topic has been cussed and discussed to the point of protest.
Ross will give Ireland one more year IMHO to get this thing turned around. IMHO, Irelands communication skills and interview skills have created the toxins, not to mention no pro bowl players apart from can't miss Jake Long.
The next GM should come from the Green Bay organization, so there is harmony and cohesion with Philbin and his staff. The toxic garbage will go to the curb after the season.

Just to let every1 know that when Pouncey was taken it wasnt just at center...He is versatile enough to play guard aswell.

If I could have two ents on my team, I'd want Treebeard and Quickbeam.

Have to disagree, who cares that high-priced over the hill free agents don't want to sign here. Any college player entering the draft would love to play in Miami, which is exactly what we need young, hungry, hard-working and appreciative player that want to have the opportunity to play the greatest game in the world. Someone of those guys that visited we weren't interested with i.e. Flynn which I'll take the advice from a coach that knows him best. Do we have holes on our team absolutely most glaring is QB. But look at the facts Ireland has drafted very good. He has hit on 3 of 4 first round picks (Long, V.Davis, Pouncey) some might argue that Odrick was a hit to especially where he was drafted late first round. Where Ireland has had his issues is in the second round with missed in Merling, Pat White, and Sean Smith sorry not a big fan of his. But he has found gems in the CFL which is like drafting in Cam Wake and undrafted players like D. Bess. He added players with potential in Hartline, D. Thomas, Misi, R. Jones, Clay, Gates, Jerry.

I wrote a post titled very telling which you should read great team are build through the draft not free agency.

I agree that Ireland may have poor interpersonal skills that could lead to a couple of players being turned off playing here but I have to say.. No pro bowl players? What about Cam Wake? Paul Soliai (I realise he didn't draft him but sticking with him after his relatively poor early performance and resigning him cheaply has to be commended)? I think Davis is Pro Bowl worthy, never mind that he hasn't gotten in. He brought in Reggie Bush, Matt Moore and Dansby, three free agents that have hugely improved our team (Moore is possibly the best back up in the league). The point is, I still think he's a good talent evaluator and I agree that this year is make or break for him, but don't be so quick to criticise him when there are stellar parts in place for our new head coach to toy with.

The only reason Wake and Solai got to the pro bowl was that the players in front of them bowed out.
Ireland does deserve credit for Bush, Moore, Wake and Dansby. But there is a long list of FA that were terrible.
Gibril Wilson, Brandon Marshall (in hindsight), Jake Grove, Columbo, and others.
Ireland is nothing special IMHO. Changing GM's might improve this team.

Wake desrved his pro bowl now Solai I have no clue how he made it

I like Ireland .... as a number 2 guy. He needs someone OVER him to have the final word that can override his decision and I don't mean Ross with his limited football I Q. He's the bad cop that asked the tough question and says no more than yes. He cuts Bell knowing the market has dried up and he may resign on the cheap. Just look at his face always sour and starch.
He doesn't want to be liked just respected.
Every organization needs an A hole like this but in our case he's the face of the francise. That's the problem.remember when Parcell's was here ? Smiling and riding around on his golf cart. Always talking to the star players and pumping them up.Never got his hand dirty with the small stuff.
I may be alone in this but i'd have Ireland report to the Head coach. That"s what Fisher asked for.
Does anyone even remember Shula's GM ? Jimmy Johnson's GM ?
In conclusion you need a smuck like Ireland. Just not in charge.

You're right man i'm not worrying just yet. We should bring this thread up after the draft and then we can have a little more input on how we're looking. But glad to see there is some form of positivity on here..

You're right man and about having the GM reporting to the head coach, thats the way I like it and how I think it should be. But having a rookie head coach we'll have to wait and see if he can prove himself, produce a winning record. Big if, but IF Philbin is the real deal and can turn things around then we'll be hearing more on his input rather Ireland managing every situation.

Just look at the drafts pre-Ireland then look at what he's done since he's gotten here
