Resign-

CB Brent Grimes
LT Bryant Mckinnie (valuable backup and was actually the only bright spot of last years line. experience and winning pedigree makes a locker room difference)

FA Signings-

FS Jairus Byrd - WHY NOT take a division rivals BEST FA and also fills in a immediate need, were byrd, grimes and Jones can solidify our Pass Defense.
RG Jon Asamoah - Start him out at RG. his superior pass blocking skills can help out as that was one of our main struggles as a line.
DT Tony McDaniel- in Seattle he excelled in that role with a Run Stop Percentage of 11.9%, which was third-best for all defensive tackles. This helped lead him to be a high DT3 last year bring him back home for a decent price.
LG Wade Smith- decent starter that can plug in play to replace incognito. knows our OL coach benton so he will be up to speed compared to other FA. older guy who provides depth and experience.

Draft

1) Zach Martin G/T - plug and play no other description needed.
2) Bishop Sankey RB - west coast offense RB whos built like a truck, has speed and is DURABLE
3) Anthony Johnson DT - run stuffing DLineman whos never missed a game in his career. run stuffer with some quickness, can challenge francis for the 3rd spot
4) Pierre Desir CB - finally a BIG CB who can shutdown bigger recievers. outstading size and physicallity which will go very well with grimes sneaky quickness and tenacity.
5) Boseko Lokombo OLB - speedy OLB who can play in coverage but isnt afraid to make the pop. can challenge jelani jenkins if wheeler gets cut. solid backup
6) Michael Sam DE- i honestly think hes going to be something special. will take time to adjust. being defensive player of the year in the SEC is no easy task.
7) Charles Leno Jr. RT

heres my M.O with this draft. last year ireland drafted players who were never seasoned into their roles and they had injury history. all of the players drafted, have basically started playing since they set foot on campus, no MAJOR injuries in the past couple years. Also, these players have played their role since they signed that LOI.

NEW OLINE

LT BRYANT MCKINNIE
LG WADE SMITH
C MIKE POUNCEY
RG JON ASAMOAH
RT ZACH MARTIN

NEW DLINE

DE DION JORDAN / OLIVIER VERNON
DT TONY MCDANIEL
DT JARED ODRICK
DE CAM WAKE

Mckinnie at lt? You must want poor tannehill to retire early

honestly i rather not over spend on a LT. if mckinnie can continue his success and have a successful off season with our new OLINE Coaches, he could actually be real solid. If we can get Monroe or Vladheer for the right price then hell yeah im all for it!

I like it. If McKinnie was a stop gap until ZM could take over at LT then sure. I'm hoping that Benton can work some magic w/ The OL.

That said, if Miami's running game is really to take off the a FB is needed. Copeland from LSU or Prosch from Auburn (my preference). Imagine the flexibility w/ the TE corps; Egnew as the Jimmy Graham type, Sims as the inline TE, then Clay & Prosch as H-Backs to move around and create mismatches.

Desir isn't a scheme fit here. As for McKinnie as a stop gap maybe...but he really wasn't even average last year, maybe compared to the rest of the line he was good but that isn't what we should aspire to. I'd rather start Martin at LT. I think it's a realistic offseason though, but I think we add a LT without a doubt through FA. Wade Smith is firmly on the decline, I'd be fine with him as a stop gap at RG, a veteran presence would be nice, but I wouldn't want to rely on both him and McKinnie, especially together on the left side.

Well I can tell you reports are Byrd just rejected the Bills over that would have given him 30M over first 3 years and some reports that is was as high as 50M over 5 years.

Also reports Bills will continue working as he is their top priority in UFA. However they will not put the Tag on him because Parker will unplug his phone like he did last year and would stall progress on negotiations.

Not sure.if Bills will come much higher than that 10M a year guess we will know in about a week.

Living in the Buffalo area I know what you are saying. He is good but he wants to get paid WAY TO MUCH. If what is being reported is correct and he turned down what Buffalo offered he just doesn't wanna play in Buffalo because that is crazy. As for Wade Smith OP, no thanks. Old and he is on his decline. Go young and build the line for years to come. No more stop gaps to fill our holes.
