1. Detroit Lions: Matt Stafford, QB, Georgia
The Lions go after a QB here in this 2009 NFL Mock Draft. I don’t see one specific OT that has proven to be the top overall pick in the 2009 NFL Draft. I don’t think any of them are proven top overall OT’s so I go with the top QB here. However, I would not be surprised at all if they went after Jason Smith or Eugene Monroe here.
2. St. Louis Rams: Eugene Monroe, OT, UVA
The Rams really need a great offensive Tackle to Anchor their O-line and replace the great Orlando Pace for the 2009 NFL Season. I have been going back and forth between Jason Smith and Monroe lately. But I think that overall as a Tackle that Monroe is the best. I think Jason Smith might have a slight edge with athleticism but I think Monroe is a better overall Tackle and that is why he is the top OT in this 2009 NFL Mock Draft.
3. KC Chiefs: Aaron Curry, OLB, WF
The Chiefs just fired Herm Edwards and it looks like they now settled with a coach. I think that in the 2009 NFL Draft Haley will lean toward getting a signal caller. However, after the combine and everything we know about Curry I think it will be tough to pass on him. He is a workout warrior like Vernon Gholston but he doesn’t take plays off.
4. Seattle Seahawks: Brian Orakpo, DE/OLB, UT
The Hawks have not fixed their secondary in the last couple years and this is one of their biggest problems. Another big need for them is OLB and Brian Orakpo has shown that he is fast enough and has the ability to OLB at the next level.
5. Cleveland Browns: Jason Smith, OT, Baylor
The Browns could go one of many ways here However, their offensive line is very weak and Jason Smith is a top 5 pick that some how falls to them here. With his ability to mover and strength I think he will be very good protecting the back side in the 2009 NFL Season.

6. Cincinnati Bengals: Andre Smith, OT, Bama
The Bengals add Coles to the team and have no problem taking troubled players. I think Andre Smith has the ability to come in and be a great player for them right away in the 2009 NFL Season.

7. Oakland Raiders: Everette Brown, DE, FSU
The Raiders get a great player for their defensive line here who can play both outside LB’s and Defensive end.

8. Jacksonville Jaguars: Michael Crabtree, WR, TTU
The Jaguars have struggled this past year and a lot of it was due to a poor offensive line and lack of talent at the WR position. So I have them taking an awesome play maker in the 2009 NFL Draft. He will be a great weapon no matter where he goes because he is both big and fast with awesome hands.
9. Green Bay Packers: B.J. Raji, DE, BC
The Packers are getting older in their secondary as well as along their defensive line. B.J. Raji worked out really well and dominated in the senior bowl. Raji has easily shown he is the best DT/NT in the 2009 NFL Draft. This 2009 NFL Mock Draft has the Packers helping their D-Line with this pick. Another choice here could be a solid defensive end.
10. San Francisco 49ers: Jeremy Maclin, WR, Mizzou
The 494ers take a very good WR and Play maker here in Jeremy Maclin who it seems could be the second WR off the board after Crabtree. Maclin run a 4.40 unofficial 40 yard dash which is a great time. Look for him to be a top 15 pick at the latest in the 2009 NFL Draft.
11. Buffalo Bills: Aaron Maybin, DE/OLB, PSU
The Bills get one of the best Defensive ends in the 2009 NFL Draft here. Aaron Maybin didn’t have a great workout at the 2009 NFL Draft Combine but he has put on 20 lbs. He is a very good pass rusher and has a ton of upside.
12. Denver Broncos: Rey Maualuga, ILB, USC
Ok everyone is telling me that the Broncos are going defense with their first overall pick in the 2009 NFL Draft. In this 2009 NFL Mock Draft I believe that they will go defense but I wouldn’t be surprised if they went after one of the top RB’s in the 2009 NFL Mock Draft.
13. Washington Redskins: Michael Oher, OT, Ole Miss
The Redskins get a very good Offensive Tackle here with the 13th overall pick. Look for Oher to come in and either be amazing or just so-so in the 2009 NFL Mock Draft Season.
14 . New Orleans Saints: Brian Cushing, OLB, USC
The Saints get a very good OLB here from USC. Ever since the 2008 Senior Bowl Cushing has been on the rise. Look for him maybe to even go ahead of his hyped teammate Rey Maualuga in the 2009 NFL Draft. The Saints need a lot of help on the defensive side of the ball and Cushing could fill a much needed piece.
15. Houston Texans: Malcom Jenkins, CB/S, Ohio St.
Malcolm Jenkins didn’t run a very good 40 at the combine and is now being considered by many to be a better fit at safety. So I have the Texans drafting Jenkins here but as a Safety not a CB for the 2009 NFL Season.
16. San Diego Chargers: Eben Britton, OT, AZ
The Chargers get a very good OT here in the 2009 NFL Draft. They already have Sproles locked up and they may get LT again so I believe they can wait on RB for now. I think if they can get a great Tackle like Britton they should take him here and solidify their offensive line.
17. NY Jets: Mark Sanchez, QB, USC
The Jets need to build the interior of their defense for the 2009 NFL Season. They would be shocked and very happy I believe if Sanchez fell this far to them. However, after the top 3 picks the need for a QB drops off so I think he could fall here in the 2009 NFL Draft. I do think he is a good player I just don’t think their is a great need in the 2009 NFL Draft.
18. Chicago Bears: Darius Heyward-Bey, WR, MD
The Bears defense is getting older but I think they go after a playmaking receiver to help their QB in the 2009 season. Bey ran a 4.30 in the 2009 NFL Draft Combine. I think he could potentially go higher than this in the 2009 NFL Draft because of his speed and skills.
19. TB Buccaneers: Josh Freeman, QB, KSU
The Bucs get a very good play making QB here. Freeman is considered to be a border line first rounder depending on the need of the position. The Bucs definitely need a QB for the future so I think Freeman is the right choice here.
20. Detroit Lions (Dallas): Larry English, DE, No. Ill
The Lions go after a very good defensive end here for the 2009 NFL Season. English is considered to be a very versatile player who could play both OLB as well as DE in the NFL.
21. Philadelphia Eagles: Knowshon Moreno, RB, Georgia
The Eagles get a very good RB here who can both run up the middle as well as catch the ball out of the back field. He not only will help complement Westbrook but he will stay healthy as well. After losing their backup running back to Denver this looks like a good fit for the Eagles. I know Andy likes to take best player on the board a lot.
22. Minnesota Vikings: Duke Robinson, OT/G, OU
The Vikings Offensive line isn’t getting any younger and they could lose some guys in the offseason. Duke Robinson has all the potential in the world to play any offensive line position.
23. NE Patriots: James Laurinaitis, ILB, Ohio St.
The Patriots could go with another ILB to match up with Jerod Mayo the beast from Tennessee. So they do exactly that and get James Laurinaitis from OSU. I think Laurinaitis is going to show he isn’t a great ILB but in the Patriot scheme he could be very good I believe.
24. Atlanta Falcons: William Moore, S, Mizzou
The Falcons get a good safety here who has been dropping in stock lately. However, I believe that if Moore works out well at the combine he could still be the top safety in the 2009 NFL Draft. I still have him ranked as the top safety in this 2009 NFL Mock Draft
25. Miami Dolphins: Vontae Davis, CB, ILL
The Dolphin get a very gifted CB here in Vontae Davis. He is my second ranked CB in this 2009 NFL Mock Draft though he might be the most athletically gifted. I think if you put him in the secondary with Will Allen, Wilson, and Bell. Now they have a much need ball hawk!
26. Baltimore Ravens: Percy Harvin, WR, Florida
The Ravens had injuries at the Defensive this year so they could use some great depth. However, a great play maker fell to them here in the 2009 NFL Draft. Another good WR that could be taken here could be Hakeem Nicks.

27. Indianapolis Colts: Perria Jerry, DT, Ole Miss
They Colts once again had problems stopping the run this year. They get my second ranked DT in this 2009 NFL Mock Draft with the 27th overall pick. Jerry could be an immediate impact in the middle of the Colts defense and helping with the run in the 2009 season.
28. Eagles (Carolina): Brandon Pettigrew, TE, Ok. St.
The Eagles get the best all around Tight End in the 2009 NFL Draft. I have Gresham going higher then him because he is a little faster and more of a receiving TE then Pettigrew. However, Pettigrew is better all around because he is a great blocking TE as well as a great receiving one.
29. NY Giants: Michael Johnson, DE, GT
The Giants have great defensive ends but they did lose Strahan last year and you can never have to much depth at this position. Johnson is one of the top DE’s in this 2009 NFL Mock Draft.
30. Tennessee Titans: Clay Mathews, OLB, USC
I think the Titans have good memories of the Mathew family. Bruce Mathews was a great player for them so I think they take a long look and his brothers kind.

31. Arizona Cardinals: Beanie Wells, RB, Ohio St.
The Edge has looked pretty good in the post season but he isn’t getting any younger and wants out . I think Beanie Wells is pretty evenly balanced and the 2nd best running back in this 2009 NFL Mock Draft. He will help them run the game and pair up well with Hightower. May give them a true running back since Hightower can only run one play the outside sweep.
32. Pittsburgh Steelers: William Beatty, OT, UConn
The Steelers get a very good OT here for the 2009 NFL Season. They have secured a pretty good Center in Hartwig but their OT’s are so-so. They could also go after a Guard or defensive secondary with this pick.
33. Detroit Lions: Troy Kopog, OT, Tulane
The Lions address their Offensive line here with an OT to protect their QB. Time to rebuild inside out and with a deep OT draft they are getting a very good player.
34. NE Patriots (KC): Sean Smith, CB, Utah
The Chiefs got their QB from the Patriots so the Patriots get this pick. They address their secondary with this pick in the 2009 NFL Season with a very good potential first round pick.
35. St. Louis Rams: Hakeem Nicks, WR, UNC
The Rams get a very good talent here that very well could be a first rounder. Look for the Rams to get Nicks to replace Holt who is asking for a release.
36. Cleveland Browns: Lesean McCoy, RB, Pitt
The Browns are having problems with injuries at the RB position and Lewis is getting on up there. Lesean McCoy is a great prospect for the 2009 NFL Season. He is ranked by a lot of people as the 2nd or even first RB in the 2009 NFL Draft. I have him as a close third in this 2009 NFL Mock Draft.
37. Seattle Seahawks: Alex Mack, C, Cal
The Seahawks get a first round talent in the 2nd round here because of all the talent in the 2009 NFL Draft. Kopog is a very good Tackle who if works out well could be taken in the first round.
38. Cincinnati Bengals: Sen’Derrick Marks, DT, Auburn
The Bengals look to build their Interiot in the 2009 NFL Draft. Marks is a good player that could be first rounder if he works out well in the 2009 NFL Draft Combine.
39. Jacksonville Jaguars: Emmanuel Cook, SS, SC
The Jaguars improve their secondary with a good Safety out of South Carolina. They under performed this year and Cook will help them in the 2009 season get back on pace.
40. GB Packers: Evander Hood, DT, Mizzou
The Packers don’t have a proven run stopping DT yet after drafting them in the past. So they try again here with Evander Hood a very good DT out of Mizzou.
41. Oakland Raiders: Tyson Jackson, DE, LSU
The Raiders get a very good defensive end here who is a first round talent that fell to the 2nd round.
42. Buffalo Bills: Max Unger, C, Oregon
The Bills have had problems with their Center’s in the 2008 season and they help build that position here. Mack should come in and start immediately either at Center or Guard for the Buffalo Bills in the 2009 season.
43. San Francisco 49ers: Fenuki Tupou, OT, OR
The 49ers grab a very good OT here that will immediately help them in the 2009 NFL Season.
44. Miami (Redskins): Ron Brace, NT, BC
The Dolphins add depth to an already pretty good defensive line. Brace is a very good DT/NT from a good College program.
45. NY Giants (Saints): Kenny Brit, WR, Rutgers
The Giants are probably losing Toomer for the 2009 Season and maybe Burress so they need depth at the WR position. Brit is a very good WR and the perfect pick here for the Giants in this 2009 NFL Mock Draft. Brit is rated by many to be a first round talent but I think he could fall a little because of good talent.
46. Houston Texans: D.J. Moore, CB, Vandy
The Texans get a very CB here who is ranked on the big board of scouts inc. for the 2009 NFL Draft. Texans have a big shot to be very good in the 2009 NFL Season if they keep playing physical football.
47. Patriots (Chargers): Tyrone McKenzie, OLB, SF
The Patriots get a good OLB here to get them younger at that position for the 2009 season.
48. Denver Broncos: Paul Kruger, DE, Utah
The Broncos improve their defense with a great DE in this 2009 NFL Mock Draft.
49. Chicago Bears: Nate Davis, QB, Ball St. Victor Harris, CB, VT
The Bears get a good value pick here with a very good CB out of VT. The kid is stupid so don’t expect him to learn the offense before next preseason.
50. Cleveland Browns (Bucs): Alphonso Smith, CB, WF
The Cleveland Browns traded Winslow to the Bucaneers so they get this pick. They get one of the best Corners in the the 2009 NFL Mock Draft here.
51. Dallas Cowboys: Jarron Gilbert, DE/DT, SJS
The Cowboys get a very good DT who is a freak athlete in the second round here. I wouldn’t be surprised if Gilbert jumped into the first round with his freakish ability. He could be filling Chris Canty’s spot.
52. NY Jets: Victor Harris, CB, VT
The Jets get a very good defensive back to help the already young backs they have.
53. Philadelphia Eagles: Clint Sintim, OLB, VA
The Eagles get a very good OLB here in the 2009 NFL Draft. He is considered to be a first rounder by many but I think he might fall because all of the USC outside LB’s in the 2009 NFL Draft.
54. Minnesota Vikings: Louis Murphy, WR, UF
Florida Picks up a good athlete and WR from a great football program. He will be a good #3 in the NFL and will help the Vikings passing game in the 2009 season hopefully.
55. Atlanta Falcons: Jared Cook, TE, SC
The Falcons get a great Receiving TE here in the 2009 NFL Draft. He had a great Combine workout and may even make the first round if the need is their.
56. Miami Dolphins: Connor Barwin, DE/LB, Cincy
The Dolphins get a very good player here that can add depth to the outside LB pass rush position for the ravens. They are a very physical team and need depth to both the DE position as well as the OLB position. This adds a much needed pass rusher for the dolphins. After you get past Joey Porter the phins have no pass rush.
57. Baltimore Ravens: Shawn Nelson, TE, S. Miss
The Ravens get a good TE here. Cam has said he does not like Todd Heap so it make sense to get a new TE that fits his system.
58. NE Patriots: Matt Shaugnessy, DE, Wisconsin
The Patriots continue to build their defense in the 2009 NFL Draft. Shaugessy is a very good DE who could be an immediate impact.
59. Carolina Panthers: Jauquin Iglesias, WR, OU
Panthers get a good WR to play opposite Steve Smith.
60. NY Giants: Darry Beckwith, ILB, LSU
The Giants get a very good ILB here in MBeckwith. If they keep some guys in the same positions they will need to add depth to the ILB position.
61. Indianapolis Colts: Herman Johnson, G, LSU
The Colts get a good Guard here to help with their running game in the 2009 season. Johnson is ranked as one of the best guards in this 2009 NFL Mock Draft.
62. Tennessee Titans: Mike Mickens, CB, Cincy
The Titans Corner Nick Harper is in his 30’s and they don’t have great depth at the CB position. Mickens would be a great fit for the Titans and match up well with Finnegan.
63. Arizona Cardinals: Robert Ayers, DE, Ten
The Cardinals get a young experienced DE to help get pressure on the opposing QB and take some pressure off of the QB.
64. Pittsburgh Steelers: Andy Kemp, G, Wisconsin
The Steelers get another good interior linemen to groom over the next year or so. Look for the Steelers to improve their run game and their line at the same time.

That would be a very good draft, but I'm not sure if Connor Barwin will be there at #56. If he is, I'd be thrilled.

For us it would be a awesome draft but why would NE pass on V.Davis for J.Laurinitis when they need big time help at CB and could get J.L at the top of the 2nd.

I am against any draft that includes Brace in the 2nd round. I just dont get the love affair some of have with this guy. He is a very limited football player with limited range.
Secondly, I could think of better places to add depth besides the NT position. I would much prefer Jarron Gilbert with the 2b spot (as a replacement for Holliday) or Beckwith to challenge AA.

a couple head scratchers.

1.The Seahwaks won't take Orakpo. 1) They run a 4-3 so Orakpo won't be a OLB 2)Even so, they don't need an OLB because they've got 2 very good ones in LeRoy Hill and Julian Peterson and 3)They've got a nice 3 man rotation at DE with Patrick Kerney, Daryll Tapp, and Lawrence Jackson.

2.Browns won't take Jason Smith. They've got big money invested in Joe Thomas,Eric Steinbach, Kevin Schaeffer, and Rex Hadnot. They're not gonna take another OL when 4/5 of the OL are making good money. Plus, they have other needs.

3.Davis to us isn't a horrible pick, but IMO he doesn't get past Atlanta.

4.The Iggles won't take Pettigrew. They'll go OL. THey lose both their starting OTs and the guy they just signed (Stacy Andrews) is coming off of a horrible season and knee surgery.

small things, but not big.

getting Davis #1 Brace #2 and Barwin #3 would be awesome but i dont see barwin droping that far and mike mayock said he sees him as a TE in the NFL

I agree with you on all of these notes. Plus I thik Oaland would take crabtree if he was there. Jacksonville needs O-line before WR.

I also think Jason Smith will be the first o-lineman taken in the draft by the Rams.

Just my thoughts. But I like most of this Mock! Nice work bro.

I really want no part of Vontae Davis. Wasn't he benched at times this season? I'm not saying the guy isn't talented, but I think he is a prime bust candidate. Ron Brace at 2a would be a terrible pick, I wouldn't be shocked if it happens, but I hope it doesn't come down to that. So sorry, not a fan.

Based on the guys available when we select I would go with:
1) Nicks, but I'm not real crazy about anyone left on the board here
2a) Either D.J. Moore or Clint Sintim
2b) I'd be ok with Barwin, but I think Herman Johnson could be a good insurance policy at guard

I think Orkako would be a good fit for the Hawks because peterson is getting on up there but I can see your point.
I agree with the Browns not taking the OT I was think best player but your right they have that spot covered.
I do like Davis he is a ball hawk and we need one in our secondary. Will Allen cannot catch a cold(he did better this year). Bell has only one career pick. The whole secondary dropped a lot of picks. But what do I know I think Jason Allen makes plays when he is on the field!

looks like a miami fan put this mock together :) too many players fall right to us

*looks around*

This is a Miami Dolphin Forum, right? You have top take that into consideration when looking at these mocks.
