QB: Obviously one of our biggest weaknesses. Let's face it, Gus just isn't cutting it for us. That leaves a few options... The first option would be to pick up an upcoming freeagent. Amoung these players- Anthony Wright, Chris Simms, Doug Flutie, Drew Brees, Jeff Garcia, Jesse Palmer, Jon Kitna, Ken Dorsey, Kurt Warner, Tim Hasselbeck, and Vinny to name a few... The other option we have is to look into using our 1st of 2nd round pick in the upcoming draft. If we did do this, we'd have to pick up one of the veteran FA's. Another option that we have now is our own Sage Rosenfels (upcoming FA). The only problem with that option is, nobody has a clue what he's capable of. He's had one game from hell, and the next one he played god. No matter which option you choose, it should be amoung the top of the priority list...... Oh, and yeah Cleo Lemon is in there too somewhere ( :shakeno: )
WR: So Chambers decided to step up and shut our mouths about him being the #1 receiver (atleast for now). And on the other side of the field isn't too shabby, but isn't looking too good either. IMO Welker is our future #2, young, quick, agile, and hands. But at the present time we have better options in the aging Marty Booker and the roided out mamoth thats decently quick and has the ability to catch a ball every now and then, David Boston. And then Gilmore( )... So what do we do about this inconsistent receiving core? Guess what... THEYRE INCONSITANT FOR A REASON... THEY HAVE A DIFFERENT QB THROWING TO THEM EVERY WEEK (Chambers alone has had, what, 5 different quarterbacks in the past 3 years?) The problem will fix itself after the QB situation dies down after it's dealt with in the next season. But one option I believe that we should exercise would be to release Boston and look for another young receiver in the offseason, whether it's draft or FA's... but it's NOT worth a trading situation (unless it's an unbelievable deal)... but now I get to the hottest topic...........TERREL OWENS....... NO .... and I'll explain why. Number one, his attitude is a huge threat, especially to an organizing trying to rebuild and is already unstable. Number two, Im not sure how much we're are paying Chambers at the moment but if I remember correct, its amoung the top ten or maybe even top five receivers in the NFL! Owens would be expecting the same or even more. Our franchise can NOT afford that even if we do have a good salary cap. situation. It would only put us in huge cap trouble down the road since we are rebuilding (or whatever you want to call it). So, NO to TO.
RB: AMAZING Ronnie Brown is the future of this organization. He has shown nothing but progress this year... not only in his rushing but primarily in his pass protection and receiving as well (both amazing and only getting better) It's just hard to realize it as he's running with one of the NFL's once great backs. Yes, I said ONCE great... before he left he was arguably one of the greatest RB's in this decade along side of LT. He's making progress but still no where close to his original ability IMO. He's still a very good back, but not great. So what do we do with him? Get rid of him? I say yes... if you're a retarted muslim extremeist. We have him for the minimum, why would we trade him away at this moment?! I say hold on to him for two major reasons... Number one, it's an amazing opportunity for the dolphins rushing game. It gives Ronnie time to rest and be able to tear defenses apart. Number two, he has very little trade value right now. If we were to trade him, keep him while hes cheap and let him regain his original ability. His trade value would skyrocket from what it would be now. The biggest problem I have with the running game right now, LET THEM RUN THE BALL. The coaching staff has yet to take full advantage of having both backs... If ya have a gun, why use a stick?
TE : McMichael, what do I say... He has become the center and the voice of this team as was aparent in the last game. Without his enthusiasm, do you all really think this team would have rallied in the forth quarter? He is easily one of the top three TE's in the league and that will become aparent once we get this quarterback situation under control.
OLine : I'll admit I don't know too much about offensive linemen but I believe these guys have continuously progressed throughout the season. I think we should just let them be as is, and let them bond together over the next year. You can't just randomly throw different guys into a line and expect that to fix the problem over night. Give them time to work together...
All in all ... Goodbye Gus (New Veteran)... Draft a QB (I'll make my preferred choice once I find out whos declaring and who isn't... so ya can't bash me for my choice yet :D )... Keep the R&R Express going... Chambers and Booker, along with a new young face... Let McMichael keep pounding the field all he wants... and fat guys hate to move, so leave em alone....
