If you want only positives, please click on one of the positive threads. There are plenty of them, as there should be. Dolphins played a great game today. Lost in the 20 Tannehill threads (and win or lose, there are always 20 of 'em), here are some things that really bothered me about today's GREAT WIN:

1. The turf at Solder Field is atrocious. This is nothing new, and other teams have been complaining about this for years. That said, it was so egregiously bad that it deserves its own mention here. I have never, ever in my life seen so many players slip and all on the field... unless you count the other Bears home games I've watched over the past couple of years.

2. Something is clearly wrong with Brandon Fields, and we need to address this issue ASAP. He's been outstanding for us for years, but at this point, it has become a glaring trend. This needs to be a priority, immediately.

3. Caleb Sturgis is not a kicker we can rely on. I am resigned to being stuck with him, but to borrow a phrase from Joe Philbin, he makes me queasy.

4. I legitimately felt that the game was poorly officiated. I understand that all home teams (including Miami) benefit from more favorable calls at home, but I honestly felt like the referees were actively trying to keep the game close. I realize that some will think I am just being an idiot, but some of those calls were just silly. I would have certainly understood an illegal contact or defensive holding call against Jamar Taylor on that one PI call, but I fail to see how pass interference can be called when the receiver would need to be 12 feet tall with freakishly long arms just to get a hand on the ball. I also saw some pretty blatant holding on the Bears that wasn't called, while the refs raced to throw two flags against Miami on Miller's touchdown.

I suppose we should ascribe this to incompetence rather than maliciousness, but still, badly officiated game.

5. Our interior OL still can't seem to pick up stunts consistently, and Ryan Tannehill has a bad feel for them. I think we are going to continue to have big problems against good defensive lines if this can't be sorted out quickly.

Oh, and

6. Four seconds to play on the half and you have the ball on the opposing 43. You don't go for a Hail Mary or very long field goal attempt? REALLY Joe? Really? Don't tell me that was hindsight either, we were screaming for it in the game thread. That's Sparanoesque coaching.

Just because I want to enjoy the rest of this Sunday feeling good

Interior OL struggles big time to create a clean pocket especially on pressure downs.

Big time struggles.

Until Miami can get legit NFL talent at both guards -- or one guard and a new center w. Pouncey staying at RG -- Miami will struggle against good DLs. Pocket collapses almost immediately on pressure downs.

Huge problem. You could see Lazor trying to compensate for it, but the one time they rolled the pocket left, Clay completely whiffed on a help-block to seal the edge. Cost the down and points.

Good points and all. There's definitely things we could've done a lot better. The margin should've been a lot bigger, but I'll take a 13 point win on the road any day. :)

Holding the Bears to it's lowest offensive output of the year is a great accomplishment (especially with the Bears WR/ Dolphins CB size mismatches) in my book.

The no hail Mary thing is grasping a bit IMO he does throw it I get it. John punts I get that.

The rest I agree with

I thought the same about the officials. I remember one play where the OT straight up tackled Vernon. It was so obvious that it was embarrassing a flag wasnt thrown. I think the announcer even mentioned it.

For another "negative" Id say I wanted to see Tannehill finally hit a deep bomb. WV mentioned this as well in his thread. Not a complaint as much as something I want to see sooner rather than later. I really cant bitch about it though because Tannehill played very well today and a performance like that wins you ballgames just about every time. Great game from Tannehill and hopefully its a sign of things to come.

Thought Taylor the CB didn't play the best on a few plays, first time I've actually noticed him, he was overly physical giving away penalties. Other than that and what you said not much to complain about!

2. Something is clearly wrong with Brandon Fields, and we need to address this issue ASAP. Agreed

3. Caleb Sturgis is not a kicker we can rely on. Agreed

5. Our interior OL still can't seem to pick up stunts consistently, and Ryan Tannehill has a bad feel for them. I think we are going to continue to have big problems against good defensive lines if this can't be sorted out quickly. The oline can only hold the DL in for so long...a lot of sacks thill takes are just him refusing to throw the ball away or run...the oline looks much much better than prior to pouncy

6. Four seconds to play on the half and you have the ball on the opposing 43. You don't go for a Hail Mary or very long field goal attempt? REALLY Joe? Really? Don't tell me that was hindsight either, we were screaming for it in the game thread. That's Sparanoesque coaching.
agreed....you have one of the fastest WRs in the league...try something

Outstanding game by Tannehill, but is there any wonder why he's the most sacked QB? Why not mention that?

I'm glad you mentioned the officiating!! It was as one sided as I can remember, and I believe took 14 points away from us today. It was almost blatantly one sided and really should be looked at by the NFL. However good teams overcome bad officiating and that is exactly what we did!! Woot woot.

7. Not enough Dolphins fans in attendance...

Of course, I'm kidding.

Seriously though it was a ton of Dolphins fans in attendance today.

Made me proud.

He's the most sacked because Miami calls a high percentage of pass plays. Russell Wilson, Ben Roethliesberger, Colin Kaepernick, and others have a higher sack rate per attempt than Ryan Tannehill, even including last year's disaster OL-fueled sack orgy.

Well said.

Concerning the O-line. For the last two weeks we've had issues trying to run the ball...coincidentally, Mike Pouncey is now starting at RG. Is this a function of having lost some chemistry on the O-line by inserting Pouncey or is it a function of teams trying to stop our running game since we were 5th in the league after 4 games...or a function of both?

Pouncey, by the way, has not played well the last two weeks IMO. Failed to pick up the A-gap blitzer last week on the last drive, got absolutely rocked back by Ratliff today. He's missing some assignments and I think it's more about him not using the technique Benton has taught him yet since he missed all of preseason and the first 4 games...he's basically still in preseason.
