Just a quick reminder that we are in the draft forum for those of you who can't believe people are doing mock Drafts.

Round 1: Patrick Willis LB 6'2 240 Ole Miss
A young man who can do it all physically will learn from one of the greatest LB minds to ever play the game. He will come in and start right away on the outside and will move over to the inside in due time.

Round 2: Drew Stanton QB 6'3 230 Michigan St.
Has all the physical qualities that you look for in the position and has true toughness that he plays with that will make him a leader to his pro teammates. He didn't have the senior year that people had hoped, but I don't think anyone could've with everything going on with that program. If Saban brings him along properly the first 2 years we won't be talking about the QB issue for the next10yrs.

Round 3: Prescott Burgess LB 6'3 243 Michigan
Yes, that's right another 'backer. I this is the year we finish establishing our LB core. Burgess doesn't get the hype of teamates Woodley or Harris, but his play is outstanding. He has good coverage ability, form tackeling, and can rush the passer. He kind of gets lost amongst some the Linebackers because he doesn't put up huge numbers in any 1 category. When I watched Michigan this year he was all over the field hitting people. When he makes a tackle he doesn't fall backwards. He hits his man straightup and drives them back. This is the type of backer you want hitting those running backs in those 3rd and ones or goaline situations.

Round 4: Courtney Taylor WR 6'2 209 Auburn
We need a WR that will go over the middle and enjoy taking the beating that comes along with that. He reminds me a little bit of OJ McDuffie in the fact that he makes you take for granted making the routine catch as OJ and Gadsden did. This kid will be one of those players that just does the little things that make a team better. He is a chain mover who can be a playmaker in the mold of Hines Ward.

Round 6: Ryan Moore WR 6'3 225 Miami
This is purely just a potential pick that you take a chance on.

Round 7: Jonathan Wade 6'0 195 Tennessee
Kid with good size and speed that Saban is familiar with as he scouted him out of Shreveport, LA.

So there it is, my first mock of the season.

Nice mock. I'd prefer Brian Smith OLB Missourri in the 3rd if available.

Thanks for the positive response. I haven't seen much of missouri so I really can't speak to much on Smith, but Ihave seen enough of Michigan to say Burgess would be the ultimate steal if we could get him in the 3rd. He really stood out like Mark Anderson did during the senior bowl.

we don't have a 2nd round pick
And yet another sign that he's smoking crack...I didn't think we had a pressing need for a LB!! OL, DL, Wr, QB...maybe even a FB.But LB?? the last thing we need JMO.

Who's the one smoking crack?

First off, yes we definitely do have a 2nd Round pick.

Secondly, LB is one of the biggest needs on the team.

I like the mock but as a previous poster said we need to pick up some Oline and Dline for that matter.

I like your 1st pick but I think your mock is too heavy on the offensive skill positions. I think if you were to add OGs Ben Grubbs of Auburn, Manual Ramirez of Texas Tech or OT Joe Staley of Central Michigan to your list I would like it alot better.
We already have a couple of receivers that will go across the middle. Booker runs alot of crossing pattern and Welker has shown to be fearless when running across the middle.

Well I think Saban will go for need as much as who he thinks is gunna be the best. I like the Patrick Willis pick becuase Zach is not getting any younger and Patrick could come in and play outside and in a 3-4 he could play middle with Zach while Crowder goes outside.
2nd round pick is ok because I think Harrington is gunna get cut ( Salary cap reasons ) and will go to some team in a big contract. However I am not so sure how good Stanton will be in the NFL. He has made some really bad choices in games, But he has some nice tools.

Once again in regards to my draft I went with what I felt were the most pressing needs. I left o-line alone as I believe that we will address this during FA and we already have a lot of young components already. I also looked over the DL in the upcomming draft and in the first portion of the 1st round there are some play makers, but I don't see anyone, at this time, that would be any improvement over what we have red shirted right now. Once again this doesn't mean it can't change before draft time. I went in looking to solidify 2 positions and that was LB and QB. I also wanted to get some more skill people in here to compete at WR so that is the reason I went the way I did. I just seen more value at the LB and QB position than I did at the other spots. Once again this is just my take very early on in the process so I do appreciate all responses.

sorry not feeling the draft. for one, WILLIS will be the first LB taken. WAY out of our reach right now again like last year...WE WIN for no reason when we r out of playoff contention. gay i say :( Stanton is WAYYYYYYYYYY inconsistent. he plays when he wants to. no need for a QB like that. and in the third, i like a LB again. I would be happy with 2 LB's taken in this years draft. many mocks have us taking Russell in round 1. you never know.
