Just a quick reminder that we are in the draft forum for those of you who can't believe people are doing mock Drafts.
Round 1: Patrick Willis LB 6'2 240 Ole Miss
A young man who can do it all physically will learn from one of the greatest LB minds to ever play the game. He will come in and start right away on the outside and will move over to the inside in due time.
Round 2: Drew Stanton QB 6'3 230 Michigan St.
Has all the physical qualities that you look for in the position and has true toughness that he plays with that will make him a leader to his pro teammates. He didn't have the senior year that people had hoped, but I don't think anyone could've with everything going on with that program. If Saban brings him along properly the first 2 years we won't be talking about the QB issue for the next10yrs.
Round 3: Prescott Burgess LB 6'3 243 Michigan
Yes, that's right another 'backer. I this is the year we finish establishing our LB core. Burgess doesn't get the hype of teamates Woodley or Harris, but his play is outstanding. He has good coverage ability, form tackeling, and can rush the passer. He kind of gets lost amongst some the Linebackers because he doesn't put up huge numbers in any 1 category. When I watched Michigan this year he was all over the field hitting people. When he makes a tackle he doesn't fall backwards. He hits his man straightup and drives them back. This is the type of backer you want hitting those running backs in those 3rd and ones or goaline situations.
Round 4: Courtney Taylor WR 6'2 209 Auburn
We need a WR that will go over the middle and enjoy taking the beating that comes along with that. He reminds me a little bit of OJ McDuffie in the fact that he makes you take for granted making the routine catch as OJ and Gadsden did. This kid will be one of those players that just does the little things that make a team better. He is a chain mover who can be a playmaker in the mold of Hines Ward.
Round 6: Ryan Moore WR 6'3 225 Miami
This is purely just a potential pick that you take a chance on.
Round 7: Jonathan Wade 6'0 195 Tennessee
Kid with good size and speed that Saban is familiar with as he scouted him out of Shreveport, LA.
So there it is, my first mock of the season.
