1st Round-Vernon Gholston DE/OLB-Ohio St.-The guy is a freak of nature and has more upside then anyone in the entire draft class. If he can get his motor to run every play the guy will not be stopped.
2nd Round A-Tracy Porter CB-Indiana-Has excellent speed, great hands, smooth back pedal, and could cover one-on-one. He also has return ability which would relieve Ted Ginn to work on his WR duty. IMO, he's the best corner in the draft.
2nd Round B-Tyrell Johnson SS-Arkansas St-The Dolphins need someone to pair up with Jason Allen for the long term. I believe Johnson is the guy who could play behind Yerimiah Bell for one year and take over the duties in 2009. He may get a shot to play earlier due to Bell's injury history.
3rd Round-Martellus Bennett TE-Texas A&M-The Dolphins really need a consistent pass catching and blocking TE. Bennett is the best combination of both that I think will be available at the top of the 3rd. Kellen Davis of Michigan St. is another option if Bennett is unavailable.
4th Round-Phillip Wheeler LB-Georgia Tech-Has excellent versitility, can play inside or outside. Can stuff the inside run and has the ability to rush the passer. A great value at this point in the draft.
6th Round A-Donald Thomas G-Conneticut-Has all the tools to be an excellent guard in this league. Now he just needs someone to show him how to use those tools.
6th Round B-Arman Shields WR-Richmond-I will jump for joy if the Dolphins can snatch him up this late. The guy has just as much, if not more potential then any reciever in the draft.
7th Round A-Kerry Brown G/T-Appalachian St-He's a big, strong, athletic kid who played well against good competition when he had the opportunity (Michigan).
7th Round B-Xavier Oman RB-NW Missouri St-Had four straight 1500 yd seasons at a small program. But you can't deny those numbers. He may be drafted higher then this.
