Miami moves down with Minnesota in round one and picks up an additional fourth round pick. Here it goes.
1. Clelin Ferrell DE, Clemson
Ferrell is exactly what Miami needs, a rugged DE who can set the edge and give the team some pass rush ability.
2. Dru Samia, OG Oklahoma
Was the leader of that Oklahoma offensive line and has some experience at RT starting there as a freshman. Brings that toughness and fiery attitude to the Dolphins line. Immediate starter at RG with Davis moving to RT.
3. Dre'mont Jones, DT, Ohio State
Jones won't give you much against the run, which drops his stock a little bit. But he can push the pocket from the inside and, at the very least, could be a valuable rotational player on passing downs. Miami needs pass rushers wherever they can find them.
4. Ben Powers, OG, Oklahoma
Why not go back to Oklahoma for the other starting guard on that unit? Powers has a chance to start right away on a Miami line that is seriously lacking in talent.
4. from Minnesota Miles Boykin, WR, Notre Dame
Gives Miami a big wide receiver with a lot of upside. Boykin was inconsistent at Notre Dame, but he has the talent for the coaching staff to mold.
5. Ben Burr-Kirven, LB, Washington
An undersized, ultra-productive linebacker with a chance to be a draft steal.
7. Iman Marshall, CB USC
It may be a stretch here in the 7th. I think he's probably a 5th rounder, but his speed likely makes him a candidate for safety.
7. Elijah Holyfield, RB, Georgia
A tackle-breaking running back who can move the pile. Not a complete back, but his strength may be exactly what Miami needs.
