so, we trade our best cb for a 2nd rounder ( who doesnt get on the field except st), and we cut our best remaining corner, who slowed considerably with his age( and looks quite bad imo ) but still had that veteran experience everyone shilling about.... either way, where our we going to get some secondary help from? the players, and positions we are desperatly in need of, we simply let go, or traded...starting with adealglay ohgunleeaye.....( so what its misspelled...u know what up)....

we need help in several defensive spots....and that just magnifies how much our offense is hurting right now....

we lost 20-3...
not 20-17..
dont trick yourself...

we were NEVER in that game.

i cannot believe we our going through this again....
we maybe worse than 2004...and im just venting...

but theres truth behind what im saying...

Buddy, you are right that we are in desperate need of secondary help and I don't see a magic fix this year, but we most certainly WERE in that game with 33 seconds to go. If Mare makes that kick I really think we would have won the game in overtime. Our defense was playing stellar and our offense couldn't be stopped in the 4th quarter. I just can't believe Olindo Mare sucks so bad now. He doesn't deserve more than half of his current salary anymore. He is the most disappointing player on the team right now, IMO.

Yeah most of the things he said were true. I just don't get why we are so bad of a team this year? It makes me wounder if the whole 6 game winstreak was even worth it. If we had another high draft pick we could maybe have gotten a top O-line or QB.

Rome wasn't built in a day. It's not like the roster wasn't in salary cap hades before we lost our two corners (we couldn't afford to pay them) - or there was quality depth just waiting to step up and contribute.

all respect due bro...but shredding a prevent defense in the late 3rd, and all of the 4th, doesnt mean we couldnt be stopped... my feeling was, it was a 50/50 shot if he made the kick ( olindo, whats up man...) , but i believe that games end the way they end, and if you need a fg to tie or win, then you were just grasping for air, while the water was rushing through your lungs....

( he almost made it though :) almost ).... i meant, we were manhandled for 2.66 quarters (only exception being... ronnie was awesome. and i believe got better as the game went on ) and their was no sign that .... in o.t. we would have been able to move the ball on them, in their "normal" defense....

lord knows, we couldnt stop them ( with all that shift shaping changing stuff) from putting up 20 on us by then, and i really doubt if we could have stopped them in the o.t....
just imo...

sorry...

maybe we play better next week..

Everyone always throws out that prevent defense crap. They werent in prevent defense when we we're driving to TIE or WIN the game it's just ludicrous to think so. They played deep on that first scoring drive but they tightened up after that and we still kept driving and we most definitely WERE in that game at the end.

Having said that I do agree with most of your other points.

I agree with the trading our best conerback for a 2nd rounder. He at the time was a pro bowl corner, and still had at least 4 or 5 good years left in him. That was a real dumb move in my opinion. And then letting Madison go wasnt the smartest move to make either. We basically traded him for Will Allen, who hasnt shown he can get the job done. Madison had an int and rumble recovery yesterday, and even though Madison was on the decline, I am pretty sure he is still better than Allen.

wow?!!

thats great bro..keep grasping man...i understand.....

yea, yes yes yes. we were mathmatically in the game..

ok.ok.ok. yes.
but we got WHOOPED! until 4 minutes left in the game...

so, if we were in the game...what does that mean? we were in the game.. right?
thats what that means. great..

explain the butt whooping that TOOK US OUT OF THE GAME, thaT ENABLED us to "get back' in the game>!!!!!!!!>>"
YO DONT ATTACK ME.

IM AS FRUSTTRATED AS EVERYONE READING THESE THREADS.
im JUST PUTTING IT OUT THERE.
man imo. IMO!!!!!

I still think moving Pat was the right thing...He always had Knee issues and he wanted BIG money and he got it... and Sam got old this year trading him (basically) for Will Allen was genious.Matt Roth was not drafted to start year one and he is getting some snaps behind Kevin Carter and he is the heir apparent at that position you can never have to many good D-lineman imo and he seems pretty solid. It wasnt Matt Roth for Surtain straight up it was matt roth and his 800k salary for Pat and his 5.5 mill salary or some such.

Fin Fans it is time to look ahead. Always watch and pull for the squad but accepting what we are is best, and we are a bottom 5 football team.

I'm not attacking you man, I just hate these prevent defense comments, teams do not go into prevent defense when they are in a position to possibly lose the game with plenty of time left to play that's all. I like the rest of your comments Saban destroyed our secondary. Had madison, Surtain and Schulters been back there we most likely would have won that game no way any of those 3 drop a pick six that hits them square in the numbers.

Agreed on the secondary help...some of it might be on the bench Bell/Allen would make for a huge speed/athleticism upgrade. My one problem with saban is his almost Wanny like refusal to change things like sticking with Bennie A and Tillman when its obvious they suck but they still play because they are the "safer" play :tantrum: ... I dont know im as frustrated as any fan but Im a glass half full kinda guy and I still think Saban will get it done but it has been a little more painful than I would have liked.
