Said the other day that we made one of the best trades in the nfl in the last ten years. And im thinking what is he talking about the ricky trade or maybe he thnks we traded for chad. Then im like o wait a sec. you mean us trading a fourth rounder for Ayodle and Fasano. He is like yeah. That was teh most under rated trade anyone has made in a long time.

I was thinking trading a fourth for a backup TE and a starting/backup ILB isnt that special of a trade but both guys were huge reasons why we made the playoffs.

Ayodle was big vs teh run and covered well. Fasano obviously was a great target for chad and he really was our best receiving target especially when camarillo went down last year.

It was a very good trade to be sure, but certainly not the best in the last 10 years. Getting Moss for a 4th was a solid deal.

I actually am more of a fan of getting Ferg for a 6th.

The cowboys used that pick on Eric Walden....

Yea that was a good trade but the Moss trade is one of the absolute blunders in the history of the NFL. There is absolutely no reason why he should of went for a frickin 4th, biggest steal in NFL history, hands down.

"The greatness of the Raiders."

No doubt it was a steal. Fasano was very reliable last year and was Chad's safety blanket. Ayodele is probably the most underrated player on the team. He isn't a flashy player by any means, but the guy is very reliable. He is also very good in coverage, something Crowder struggled with at times last year. This was a trade that flew under the radar and another one that was close along this line is Fergie for two 6th rounders (we got one of theirs in a move down in the round). Without Fergie, our D would not be the same last year. Two very quality trades by our FO.

I think the best trade in the last ten years was a 2nd round pick for THE A.J. Feely

Trading Seymour (30 year old DE) to Raiders for a 1st rounder has to be up there too.

First Rounder????

If it holds up...early indications are that Seymour is in the drivers seat...and isn't going to report.

I'm no contract expert but I ran across an interesting explanation....

media is reporting that Seymour has the Raiders by the Balls but he has the PATs BY THE nuts. Seymour is not reporting to the Raiders because he wants his 6 million from PATS. He figures he can get it if he doesnt report to Raiders and the PATS are forced to send the 5 day letter....PATS should pay him the money so he leaves or they will have major egg on thier faces..
took this from a PATS board about seymours 2006 contract.

The total value for four years is $30.026 million.
Seymour received a $5.34 million signing bonus.
The first option bonus is for $6.66 million and is payable between Aug. 4 of this year and next March.
The second of the option bonuses, for $12 million, is due the first week of next March.
Failure to exercise the options means that Seymour's base salary for 2007 goes from $600,000 to $19.26 million, all of it guaranteed, and that he becomes an unrestricted free agent after the '07 season.
Base Salaries:
2006-$585,000
2007-$600,000
2008-$730,000
2009-$3.685
offseason workout bonuses of $106,720 each for 2006-2009.
The cap charges:
$4.42 million for 2006 (identical to pre-extension cap charge)
$8.26 million for 2007,
$8.391 million for 2008 and
$11.34 million for 2009

Actually the best trade was made with money....that trade was for Parcells. Thank You Wayne!!

Let me see if I'm reading this right....since the pats didnt excercise the bonus his contract from 07 goes up, which means the Pats need to write him a check before he leaves? Awesome......Belicheat out thinking himself just cost Kraft a boat load of money.

Pioli+Belicheat > Belicheat+Belicheat......I saw this on another blog, and I love it lol.....lets sit back and watch the bricks start to fall on this dynasty........its going to be sweet......
