Always root for the Dolphins to win the flip. We always defer, meaning a possession to begin the third quarter. We don't do anything in the first half anyway so it's bad news when we lose the toss, like last week.
Philbin has a great percentage in winning the flip, or at least it seems that way.
As much as I appreciate running the football, the 3rd and 10 call early last week was awful, one of our worst decisions of the season. Kansas City was not a confident team entering that game and the first quarter hadn't started well for them. You have to kick'em when they're down and take a shot downfield. Then if it connects, hurry to the line and run the ball at them decisively on first down, and again on the next play.
Their defensive backs gained confidence as the game progressed. We needed to attack early when they were still playing soft.
