My girlfriend's college graduation is next Sunday at 1:00

90% of graduations are pointless anyway. It isn't like you know many of the 500 people they call to get their blank piece of paper
 
Put a cardboard figure of you in the crowd. She will never know you are missing. You will look real from when she is on stage getting her diploma.
 
My fiance is the best when it comes to not missing games, she always works our schedule around games so we dont have to miss any..gotta love it

I feel your pain bud, im working Sunday. But thankfully the coverage on 105.9 here in orlando will be on!

Sportstap on my iphone is pretty good also.
 
I'd say on Thursday night start dropping hints like a subtle cough or fake sneeze, then progressively up the acting until you reach the climax on Sunday in which you pull out the fake vomiting, raspy voice, the whole nine. After she says if you're really sick you don't have to come, you might even wanna throw in the line "I wouldn't wanna miss this for the world (que coughing attack and/or fake vomit noise)". You should be in the clear by the time the game rolls around, plus she'll be so busy with family and friends she probably wont even bother you during the game.


Remember this too (unless you are seriously planning on marriage) girlfriends will come and go, the dolphins are here FOREVER. Think about it, first potential division win in almost a decade, how are you gonna feel if she breaks up with you a year down the road and you missed one of the biggest games of all time. The choice is clear in my book.

Well that's the thing. We've been together for a long time and marriage probably is in our future. There's really no way I can miss this. Not only is she expecting me to be there for her ceremony, I have to help her move out of her on campus apartment as soon as it's over. Back in August when she was moving in for the semester, I promised her I'd help her move in. However, I found out later that my top fantasy football league that I play in every year was holding it's draft that same day and I couldn't miss it. I ditched her at the last second and she's just now getting over it.
I've already accepted the fact that I have to go to the graduation, but that doesn't mean that I won't be spending the entire time getting live updates on my phone.

do you have a Tivo/DVR/VCR? If I was you I would just tape the game then and don't talk to anyone at all about anything to do with football, and the second you finish helping move run home. I definitely understand your girlfriend having you by the balls though, so I can sympathize. :lol:

Who the hell schedules a graduation on a Football Sunday anyway? What's wrong with these people?
