The Fins open on the road due to the Marlins playing at DS that weekend. The Pats, Bills, Titans, and Chargers all have had the opening weekend games announced.

That leaves the possible teams we play as follows Atlanta, NYJ, Carolina, and Jax.

We play Carolina and Jax in the Preseason and I doubt the NFL would make us play them again in week 1.

That leaves either the Jets or Falcons.

We opened last year with the Jets and also finished with them.

It could still be the Jets, but im putting my money on the Falcons.

I will be in Atlanta if it is the opening game. Go Fins.

solid analysis and conclusion my man.

This was one of the most interesting games on our schedule. We both had remarkable, unexplainable turnarounds with great coaching. I knew Mike Smith was gonna be a great coach, but i had no clue Matt Ryan was gonna be as poroductive as he was.

After this game, the NFL coach of the year debate between sparano/smith should be settled. I wish we played them last year, i think we would have won, and most experts had them pegged as a better team throughout the year.

This game would be a great opener, the most popular among southern states. Two young improving teams are comming off 11-5 seasons, last year had top 2 rookie coaches. Excellent top 3 draft choices.
I'm praying Jake allows ZERO sacks, we have a bunch of big runs on the left side, and Matt Ryan throws 2 picks, fumbles on a Porter sack, and only completes around half his passes for less than 200 yards.

We haven't won a season opener in some years. Lets get it.

Echo? My post from yesterday:

I am predicting that we will be playing at Atlanta the first week of the season. I also wouldn't be surprised if that was the 4:00 game that Sunday.

Here is my reasoning:

1. Marlins play at Dolphin Stadium on Sunday, September 13th. So, the first Dolphins game is Away.

2. Buffalo, New England, Tennessee and San Diego have already been given games for Week one.

3. The four other possibilities for an away game are the Jets, Jaguars, Falcons and Panthers.

4. I don't think it will be the Jets, because I don't think they will start two years in a row facing the same team. Also, I think the league usually goes away from having two division games on opening weekend. New England already is facing Buffalo, so I think that eliminates the Jets.

5. I don't think it will be the Jaguars or the Panthers. Miami plays both teams in the preseason, and I don't think the league would have the preseason game and the regular season game so close together. In my opinion, the Jaguars and Panthers games will be later in the year.

6. That leaves the Atlanta Falcons as the logical choice. What a better way to kick the season off then with the two most surprising teams of last year and the #1 and #2 vote receivers for coach of the year facing each other. This has the making of being a big draw for CBS on opening weekend for the late game.

would be a great opening week game for tv. the two rags to riches teams playing each other week one. should be on fox

I think the last season opener we won was against Denver back in 2005 right?

Yup... We lost to the Steelers in 06 (Culpeppers first Dolphin start)..in 07 we lost to the Redskins and in 08 was the Jets.

I remember being at that game to

To be honest, I saw the title of this thread and was prepared to blast you back into the stone age ...@ self!

However, this is a very well thought out opinion with a basis firmly grounded in logic. Why can't more posters utilize this type of thinking? Well done, sir.

How do you know this? I always thought that the home team in the NFC was on Fox and the AFC on cbs?

I know I am probably wrong, but just wondering why.

Thanks!

I don't have a link for this, but when AFC teams play NFC teams in the regular season, the road team always plays on their home network. In our case for the Falcons game that would be CBS.

This is correct. I am not sure why it is this way, but it is.

The Falcons and Panthers games will be on CBS. The Buccaneers and Saints games will be on FOX.
