Our draft philosophy is very simple (and repeated to us a million times before the draft). We have need everywhere under this simple philosophy. With this we are taking the BPA with every pick that fits our philosophy. This philosophy seems to consist of mean, nasty attitude players that work their butts off and are football guys with a puppy dog face off the field so to speak (high character just like they have said all along go figure). This is the MO of all of our picks so far. BPA meaning if we really wanted a QB and were drafting on need we would have taken Ryan. Or gotten back into the first round when someone that was moving up to get one might take a QB. And no way in hell would we have passed at 32 on a QB if we were drafting on need because no one and I mean no one had Henne and Brohm falling that far (even Ireland said that is about here they had Henne taken when we took him). Henne represented the greatest value for us on our charts so we took him. Parcells has told the players that no one is safe and they need to prove year in and year out that they are the perfect person for that position because he has a plan and he is sticking to it. His blueprint that has proven successful is way more important than any one individual. He proved with 2 of the picks today that he really does have a plan and no one is safe. I think if Henne was gone we would have looked elsewhere without a thought. So the question becomes who tomorrow fits the tough, high character, high motor, player that Parcelles is looking for? Even if we are filled at that position, (rb?)
