My Hypothesis (saving R&R?)

What do you think? Do you think Saban is holding back on Ronnie and Ricky until a few more games? You always hear about RBs getting "burnt out" or they "lose they're legs" by mid season, etc. Example....Cadillac...great first couple of games...but he's been hurt, worn down for the last few! Do you think this is in Saban's thinking? Half the season is almost gone....Defensive Lineman, LBs, and DBs are getting tired, hurt, etc.......HHHHMMMMMM?????? Remember...Saban is a thinker!!! Give me you thoughts on this.....the way the AFC East is going....you never know!!!

Yes...BUT, we've been passing a lot when we're not even behind!

a lot of that is due to the rediculous amount of false starts we've had. seems like we're always 1st and 15 or 2nd and long.

AND...there's been times were we're 2nd and 1 and 3rd and !!!!! Great time to pound Ronnie or Ricky!

Jesus christ people, stop making excuses for our pass-happy offense. Being down by 7, 10, and 11 doesnt mean you have to pass more and more and more.

He's holding Ronnie and Ricky back. Because he prefers to go 2-4, and sneak up on the rest of the division from behind. Master strategist, that Saban. They'll never see us coming.

That's the most ridiculous thing i've heard all day. In any sport you don't hold anything back! You play balls out and try to win everygame. If that's his plan than he isn't a thinker. He's the opposite! We suck people! Face it! Get ready for the Heat.

And they would expect us to run in those situations so i dont have a problem with passing every now and then, it would keep a D off guard, but i like you guys think he may be doing it too much--after all you play to your strentghs, and RB is ours. Ronnie has already broken 2 fifty plus runs, and if he was not injured would probably have made paydirt on one of them. The problem is there is no consistency. Penalties and too many runs for losses are killing us. we need more consistency to go with the big plays, and then we will almost be there

So.....what are your thoughts on why Ronnie has only had like 14-15 carries in 2 games? AND, when Ricky comes back he only has like 10 carries in 2 games??? You have an awsome 1-2 punch....and you don't use them? Explain that to me.

Simple; Linehan and Saban aren't going to make the same mistake as the Wannstedt administration, and try to run on eight and nine-man fronts. Linehan is a smart coordinator - when the D is giving us the short-intermediate pass, he takes it.

Now, what's gone wrong with this thought process? Well, somewhere alomg the way, we forgot to tell our WR's that they have to catch the balls that hit their chests and hands in order for that to work.

That, plus the fact that our OL is so pathetic that it can't run-block for a former Heisman Trophy-winner/1853-yard rusher, and the most talented RB in the 2005 draft .

All that makes it rather difficult to execute any game plan.

Agree...BUT...you have to get RBs going with about 10-12 carries BEFORE they start to hit their stride...right? So even though there are 8 and 9 guys in the box...you have to keep running them! If you get a few 4 and 5 yard runs...the box starts thinning out...then you start getting your WRs open....they all have to get on the same sheet of :band2:
