I have complete confidence in our front office but I would be very happy if this is what the Dolphin's draft looked like:

1. Percy Harvin- I realize he is compared to Ginn but I believe they are two different players. Yes he is fast like Ginn but whats wrong in having two blazing wide-outs. It has worked well with us before. Ginn can run away from players but Harvin can flat out make people miss unlike Ginn. Harvin reminds me more of a Steve Smith type player. If he can just stay healthy I think he can have a great NFL career. With Bess, Ginn and the addition of Harvin our offense should be explosive. Add a red zone WR through FA and some OL depth in the draft our offense would be complete.

2. Ideally I would like Sean Smith out of Utah to fill our FS spot or possibly play corner. I really like his versitility and think he has the potential to be a great player. If gone my second choice would be Rashad Johnson out of Alabama. He may not be a superstar but he can be a solid starter for our secondary for a long time, and will make the big play when needed to.

2b. Antoine Caldwell- Not sure if he will be available..but can play either the G or C spot. At the very least can provide some excellent depth. Very smart guy, and great leader. Could end up being a starter for a long time.

That would be a solid first 3 picks.

Percy is not, I repeat NOT as strong and powerful as Smith. Nice two latter picks but in this situation I'd want a trade down and for them to pick Larry English.

Really? I bet Smith does not BP 405 and Squat 500.

I don't know what his numbers are, but I think u are underrating Steve big time . . . he is about as strong and as tough as they come at WR in the NFL.

Percy would have to work on his route running, as he played more of a TB than a WR . . . in 3 years of college.

But I am comming around on the kid, I know if we drafted him, I wouldn't be upset.

Didn't say he was. I'm just saying he plays more like Steve Smith than Ted Ginn Jr. For example on a WR Screen to Ginn, he will run 8 yards see a player coming at him and dip out of bounds. I believe both Smith and Harvin are players that will cut it up field and make players miss. Let me say this then...Harvin plays more like Bess than he does Ginn but Harvin has way more natural talent. I just really think having three fast quick WR like Harvin Bess and Ginn would really help us streth the field. As for Larry English, I would be very happy if we ended up with him but I dont think we could trade down and get him, we would have to pick him at our pick if he is not taken already.

Drafting Harvin at 25 would make me have flashbacks of drafting Ginn all over again.

Agreed.

But besides that, I like the other two picks a lot. Even though I'm unsure if Sean Smith would be a CB or S, I really wouldn't care. And Caldwell at worst would be depth at C/G, but looks good enough to be a starter.

I just don't see Harvin as "soft". So far in his career maybe injury prone....but if it was not for those injuries he would not fall to 25. Harvin has a different body build than does Ginn and they just flat out play differently.

Also...I would not mind the Ginn pick if it was at 25. He is improving and can still develop into a very good WR. People do not realize that he was getting doubled a lot last year. It is the fact that he was picked at 9 that drives me crazy. We could have gotten a lot better value at that pick.

I have a feeling after the combine Sean Smith's value is going to sky rocket. He might not be a bad pick at 25 either...still hoping he falls to our first 2nd rounder.

I'm also starting to think we might be able to get Caldwell in the 3rd round which would be great!

Don't take this this the wrong way, but it is obvious that you haven't watched him play. You may say that am biased, but he is a better recruit than Reggie Bush coming out of college. I saw a lot of Bush and he almost always broke his runs to the outside to get away from people with his speed. Percy is a superior route runner and I have never seen a guy move in traffic like Percy. He will put moves on defenders inside the the hole as he is going through it.
Does he make crisp cuts? Well, Percy didn't seem to cut, he glides because he can see what happens before it happens. I liken him to Bobby Fisher with his ability to anticipate the defenders moves before they make them. I'm an objective person and I have watched a lot of football, I have never seen a player with his ability before.
Will he be as dominate in the Pros as he was in college? I don't think so because the players are of superior talent in the NFL. But the only thing that will hold this kid back is his body. Running as hard as he does, he puts a pounding on his frame. He has been hurt a lot at UF. I don't know how long his ankles will hold up.
I think the comparison to Smith made earlier is an apt one. I have always said that he reminds me a lot of Steve. I have never seen Smith line up in the backfield, but Percy has that dual threat capability. If we are indeed going to Run the spread, he would be the perfect guy for that offense.

in past years i would be nervous about our FO taking a soft overrated WR B*tch, but now i am proud to say that we wont, and i dont have to worry. our team will select a player who will actually help our team win games, other than attempt (and not) quench our fake fans thirst for pro bowl like passing attack and point totals. We a bad line, no pass rush, no secondary and we should waste a pick on a tissue soft WR. ya im glad you guys are not in the FO

Harvin is a rare talent- for some reason he doesn't get his due respect on these kind of sites. When Ginn can bench 405, not run out of bounds on a regular basis, and be remotely as quick as Harvin, which he most certainly is not, then I"ll listen to Harvin/Ginn comparisons. Ain't gonna be any time soon. As to Harvin being soft- he had what, 190 carries last year? Any lingering injury issues wouldn't deter me from seriously considering picking him at #25. He's pure talent, plain and simple. I'm still for WR or OL if the right player is there at #25.
