My preference is to hire Cam Cameron as Head coach. Then, Mularkey should be fired and Garrett given a position/title similar to what Capers had this past season. If Garrett decides to go elsewhere then name (Colts QB coach) Jim Caldwell as OC.

Keeping Houck is mandatory.

I would name Rex Ryan as DC/Assisstant Head coach. That way it would be a promotion and don't believe the Ravens would be owed any compensation. If not Rex then Tomlin. Capers, obviously, would be let go.

Like most of you, a strong personnel man is needed. Should Cam get the job, my preference would be to see if he & Mueller could work together. If not get a decent personnel guy. Ron Wolf comes to mind. I believe Wayne tried to lure him to Miami 2 years ago. Though, I wonder if he can be lured out retirement. I really can't think of anyone else.

you got it exactly what i want to happen too

I think the ideal situation is some sort of zombie/resurrected mummy of Vince Lombardi. For personnel man I'd hire the Loch Ness Monster, but only if he'll bring Bigfoot to play tight end

Rumor has it Capers will take off if he doesn't get the Fins top gig.

"There have been reports that Miami defensive coordinator Dom Capers, who worked with Coughlin in Jacksonville, will run the defense if he is not promoted to the top job with the Dolphins."

I had heard that also but in the initial post he said Capers would be let go and it sounded as though he would be dumped not that Capers would be gone of his own accord. I was just wondering if he was noting something about Capers that was undesirable or unwanted for the new staff?

And why should we dump Capers? I thought he had done a good job with what was available.

I liked it all but that too. We need to keep the Defense and Capers in tact and improve the offense.

Cameron is my ideal scenario as well. Capers said he would go if he didn't get the HC position but we shouldn't be pressured into hiring Capers as HC in order to keep his defense. I hate ultimatums!

I agree, if Capers does not want to be here unless he is H.C. then he should just leave now. I don't see Wayne choosing him above the rest. Dom is a good D.C. and I would like for him to stay that for us but if not then bye bye Dom.

My Ideal Scenario

H.C. Cam Cameron
O.C. Jason Garrett (could learn a lot from Cam since it would be his first tenure as an O.C.)
D.C. Dom Capers (it would keep some sort of continuity in the defense)
O-line (Reunited) Hudson Houck

I agree with you all, if Capers believes he is all that then let him walk. But, if he settles for DC and maybe an asistant HC I would love to see him stay. Of course he has some history with Coughlan so he just may walk anyway. It would be a shame if our defense had to adjust to a new system though.

well we are getting a new head coach hell prolly bring his own people in we cant really get excited about the oc dc and stuff untill we jnow whos running the show

if we lose capers it will be a huge mistake. he is a man among boys.
