Yes, that is a given. If it didn't I would of spit in my bosses face and quit on the spot.... But it just isn't the same. I mean, this is the playoffs, and my job can be very stressful at times.

Every week there seems to be one of these questions (my GF wants me to meet her family; I have to work, what should I do, etc etc...)
Dilemmas Dilemmas. The answer is easy. For girls, dump em. No chick that doesn't understand how important the jets or ravens game is worth keeping around.
For work, if it's a job you could get somewhere else (like, say, retail), then it's a no-brainer. Leave.
If it's a job you like and they like you, then compromise. Don't lie (err, at least not totally). If every one knows you're a big phin fan, it does you no good to say 'you're sick.' Say something like, I have family from out of town coming to watch the game. I HAVE to be home. My wife, mom, whatever will kill me if I leave her alone with them, etc.. Offer to work from 9-12:30 and work late another night. Like I said, if it's a good place that wants you around, most bosses would do this.
I'm married with two kids (and in my younger days worked on some sundays) and I've managed to navigate my way into watching every fins game since Sunday ticket was invented (hurricane-related issues not withstanding)!

I have a TV at work, so I can see the game at moments. I work at a very busy international airport as an Operations Agent. It is vital that I be there, so calling out isn't an option.
I guess I will just watch it in increments. I can't swap my times because I'm the only one there that does what I do, and the other person who shares my job responsibility called out.
I originally had the day off but now they need me desperately. Ugh, Yes I will have the radio on, yes I will have the TV on. But tomorrow will be busy, every flight out is overbooked.
