This will be my last draft until the NFL combine.
Round 1, Pick 1:
Glenn Dorsey, DT, LSU - As a lot of people would say, it all starts at the trenches. However, that's been a fight Miami has been losing for a while, ranking dead last in run defense. It also doesn't help that we couldn't consistently pressure the quarterback, let alone get to the quarterback for a sack. Glenn Dorsey could help with both. He can play multiple positions on the line, whether it be 3-4 or 4-3.
Round 2, Pick 1:
Terrell Thomas, CB, USC - Terrell Thomas brings a lot of things to the table. He has great speed. He has the ability to play the pass AND the run. He is very physcial. He also has the ability to play both free and strong safety.
Round 2, Pick 27:
Beau Bell, ILB/OLB, UNLV - Can somebody say "Heir of Zach Thomas"? He has great size, great speed, and the ability to rush the passer. He can also both inside and outside and is very productive player (posting over 100 tackles, 7.5 tackles for loss, and three sacks last season).
Round 3, Pick 1:
Branden Albert, OL, Virginia - With us now having a lot of Dallas personnel in the coaching staff, large offensive linemen is a must. Branden Albert fits the size part at 6'7" 315lbs and is a very consistent player and is one of the top guards entering the draft.
Round 4, Pick 1:
Brad Cottam, TE, Tennessee - This guy has good speed and very large frame, standing at 6'8" 270lbs. It's hard to pass this guy up. He is a great athlete and a very hard worker, making him a project worth taking on that could be a great boon for us and the offense.
Round 5, Pick 1:
Forfeited... Again. Seriously, am I the only one annoyed by the fact that for the third straight year we are without a fifth rounder in this draft?
Round 6, Pick 1:
Caleb Campbell, SS, Army - This guy is huge for a safety at 6'2" 224. But he is also fast and hard hitter with a lot of range. He'd be right at home with Jason Allen and (if they choose to re-sign him) Yeremiah Bell.
Round 7, Pick 1:
Jacob Hester, HB/FB, LSU - Why not? He'd be a great addition to the team. While not a starter, he could be another slash player with great hands, a love for the game, and a team player mentality.
