Believe it or not, there is really only one major problem I can think of that I had today........

Henning....Where the **** did you learn to do math dude?

Situation....Phins up 13-3 in the 4th qtr.

3rd down and I believe 7 or 6 yards...something like that. We have the ball in the red zone. WHY THE **** DO YOU CALL A RUN THERE????????

Seriously man. At least try and throw for a TD there. A 20-3 lead late in the game and ITS OVER. Instead you settle for a FG when we are already up 2 scores. All that did was give Buffalo hope. Down 16-3 they had time for 2 possessions. And guess what....at 16-3, two TDs BEATS YOU. We were ALREADY IN FG RANGE!!!! Why the **** not throw it on that 3rd down when Pennington almost never turns it over and had been completing a high percentage????

Come on Henning. Youre killing me lately.

OK OK One last complaint.

I dont know about you guys, but Ive seen enough of the wildcat for now. It does nothing. Unless you are running something new out of it, put it away Dan. Its over man.

In fact, I think it would be a good idea to put it to bed for the next two games. Let the Jets think we are done with it, then bring it back out. Only when we do, let it be some trick play or something. Maybe even start by running something they have seen out of it the first time...then BAM. Throwback to Chad for a score in the Meadowlands.

Besides, we heard a few weeks ago a couple players say there were a few things they still havent unvailed out of that formation. Well.....we havent seen anything new out of it for weeks now. Put it to rest Henning. At least until the Jets game.

It forced them to score two touchdowns instead of a touchdown and field goal. It was a good call.

It was a horrible call. Basically there wasnt much risk at all in throwing it. And if we score a TD, we go up 3 possessions and the game is over. Stupid call.

Obviously AFTER they missed the 3rd down they HAD to kick a field goal. He was talking why not a better play call in that situation (3rd down). . . and I agree. Fins gotta learn to put these teams away . . . I could tell early by the way we were able to run the ball . . . we were going to win this game today. Should have been done with by the start of the 4th quarter.

Not a stupid call. If we would've picked up the first down, more time would've been consumed and we could've maybe even scored a TD.

Hindsight is 20/20.

The play calling sometimes leaves you scracthing your head, but it is stll 100% better than last year. My problem is sometimes we use the wildcat too much and today we tried the same running play two times in a row out of it and it got us nowhere.

i dunno man, i'm pretty happy not forcing things when your up in the game, especially by more than one score. i have a ton of faith in pennington, but sometimes its best to play it safe rather than risk making a big mistake.

Exactly. And the best way to pick up that first down wouldve been throwing it. 3rd and medium. It was a no brainer to throw it. Pennington was completing a very nice percentage all day. Why the hell run it?

Big mistake? I mean its not a big deal because we won . . . but like I said earlier, u got to take advantage of these opportunities when u get them. If its not there, throw the ball away and kick the FG . . . but atleast give yourself a chance at 6 . . . a TD in that situation makes it 3 scores. Just too conservative when the game still wasn't decided.

I don't mind the wildcat, even for only 2 or 3 yards . . . but geez, not when our base formation is having soo much success . . . Pennington was 23 of 29 . . . why in the hell would we need the wildcat . . . Ronnie averaged 4.5 yards a carry today . . . u take away the wildcat . . . its probably over 6 yards a carry . . . our offense was better than their defense today.

When we get a rhythm going . . . its like we want to experiment . . . nice pass to Chad to Ronnie for the first down. Then . . . . we go wildcat . . . loss . . . then we go reverse . . . loss . . . I mean wtf, it kills me sometimes . . . just pound the ball or have Chad throw it . . . I'm cool with that.

eh what can i say, i'm a conservative guy. you can't please everyone, if in that situation penny gets sacked and coughs it up, or tosses a pick 6 the whole momentum of the game can shift. i would love,to see us go in for the kill don't get me wrong...but right now its not how we are built to win games.

Thats exactly my point. A 10 pt lead and a 13 point lead isnt much of a difference at that stage in the game. A 17 point lead however is a HUGE difference. Its called BALLGAME. In fact, a 17 point lead at any point in the 2nd half is huge. When trailing 3 possessions you pretty much are forced to almost abandon the running game and the defense can pin its ears back and get after you.

A 3 score lead is HUGE. Its really a big key in the game. If you get a 3 score lead at any point, you can turn what might be a close game into a total blowout if you get there in the 3rd qtr.

Anyways, back to the point. It was just plain stupid to run it on 3rd and 7 or 6 or whatever it was when we were up by 10 late in the game. Go for the throat there. If you go up 17 its over.

Seriously, what stops you from throwing it? ESPECIALLY WITH PENNINGTON as your QB. If it isnt open, throw it away and take the 3. If he gets sacked....we were still in FG range. Hell, if he turns it over, which btw was a real longshot, we are still up 10 and at that stage in the game 10 is almost identical to 13.

It was just stupid to run it there and settle for 3 points. We couldve at least TRIED to get a 1st down through the air.

I too get tired of us playing not to lose instead of being aggressive and playing to win. We start getting too conservative at times and then all we did is kick fieldgoals when we should be aggressive going for a touchdown. We need to develop that "step on the other teams throat" mentality for once

Because they are expecting a pass, or you are forcing them to respect your smashmouth run game on future plays, or simply because Henning thankfully is our OC. They probably did it to allow the self righteous know-it-all fan to create another,
I'm right after the fact which compensates for all of my other deficiency's post here on finheaven.

Get real. Im sure they were expecting a pass on all the other 3rd down and medium situations that Chad converted on them all day. Dude completed around 80% today. It was a stupid call.
