FREE AGENCY PICKS UPS AND CONTRACTS-

Jabari Greer/Kevin Dockery-4/year,$12.5M,$4M in guarantees

DRAFT PICKS-

1-Duke Robinson(6'5",335),Oklahoma
[MIA needs to build the running game more. The line was decent,at best in the running game, but got better in the passing, however we desperately need to make more holes for Ronnie, cause most on 08 was either Jake Longs side,or make a hole himself.Duke is looked to eb one of the most complete Guards too come through the draft since Shawn Andrews. He has the size, strength, and the athletism to thrive in the DOlphins aqua and orange lining pu to Jake Long, and creating one of the youngest, yet best LT-LG duos in all of football]

2-Clint Sintim(6'3",255),Virginia
[dropped in the draft back into 2nd round, after he failed to impress at combine.Still a future star in the league, and is assumed to be a "Karlos Dansby" type-player]

2B-Sean Smith(6'3",214),Utah
[Smith dropped a couple slots witht he 40-time.He isnt slow, but could have slatted up into the mid-first round with a 4.3-4.4 time.He still is a future starter in the league, and drafting him will ensure a new era in MIA's secondary]

3-Ramses Barden(6'6",230),Cal-Poly
[Barden is a magnificant talent. No,hes not a burner, but his speed for his size is exceptional enough to warrant Parcells attention in an interview with him.I would consider this draft a failure is we didn't get a big WR]

4-Antonio Appleby(6'4",255),Virginia
[Antonio is everything you want in a 3-4 linabacke. He has enough size to play any psotion at the linebacker, plus he has 4 years of experience in 3-4 scheme at Virginia, and potential to great for the Phins to ignore.Reminds me A LOT of San Deigo Charger OLB Shaun Philips.Strong, fast, agile, and can make the tackle]

5-Ramon Foster(6'6",325),Tennesse
[big dude, who will be Careys under-study,and backup for years to come]

7-Sammie Lee Hill(6'4",330),Stillman
[big guy, that is very mobile, and racked up over 50+ tackles his final two years, and never had a year w/out a sack.He is truely a potential hidden gem]

*I suspect the last 2 7th rounders are either going to be released,or on practice squad*

If Sean Smith lasts til 2b I'm on board to draft him..., I agree we'll go Oline and OLB with our two first picks and my mind hasn't changed since the Post-season blow-out...

exactly, some people keep thinkling we have no offensive line problems.Sure,we were better, but its still not good enough.

We couldnt run against B-more to save our lives, thats gotta change, and that includes moving Smiley back to his orignial position, where he was a huge part of frank Gores monsetr 1500+ season a couple years ago...what has he done since Smiley left?

I will bet money if Satele losses his spot it wont be to berger that guy is a back up and not even a good one at that

Berger is nothing but depth. He will not replace Samson at starting C.

I know they said they brought him here to compete for a starting position, but what else would they say "We brought in to ride the pine."

instead of Antonio Appleby i think we could get jasper brinkley in the 4th round

Brinkley is nice, but Antonio is more mobile, just as good as Brinkley, and can play any positon, while Brinkley can only play inside.

Wow, dont like the Duke or Barden picks. Get a Center, Satele can back up STARTERS Justin Smiley and Donald Thomas. Cb is very thin, Smith is not a NFL CB, he is a FS. Get a Butler or Mocho Harris in here

dont think Harris will be in the most opportune times for our picks,Butler is an athlete, nothing more,we need true football players, and thats what Barden and Duke are. They may not be workout freaks, but football is not revolved around those kind of things, and they may not be the flshest, but 50 touchdowns in 4 years is amazing in a runnign school for Barden, and Duke is the definiton of a future Pro Bowl Guard, you wait and see...

Berger will not be starting. I would make much more sense to draft a center like Alex Mack instead of Robinson. We're set at guard with Smiley and Thomas and Berger/Satele provide good depth and competition at C and G. If Alex Mack or one of the other good centers coming out can start right away we'd be set for a long time. Drafting Duke would be unnecessary considering we'd make a backup of a very good starter.

If both are healty, Donald Thomas and Smiley will be on the field at the same time as starters. We need a beast center.

LT:Jake Long,Shawn Murphy

LG:Duke Robinson,Ikechuku Ndukwe

C:Jon Berger,Samson Satele

RG:Justin Smiley,Donald Thomas

RT:Vernon Carey,Ramon Foster

Why would they move Smiley from LG to RG and have Ndukwe move from RG backup to LG backup amd moving Murphey from Gaurd to Tackle? That in of itself is a huge transition. Long said himself that having Smiley next to him benefited him greatly. IMO no way Berger would beat out Satele at Center. If anything, Alleman would be a better replacement at center than Berger. He played very decent when taking over for Satele in limited time.

I was about to type the samething...I will add that there's no way we draft a guard in round 1....we'd take Mack at 25 before we take a guard and I agree that Berger will not start and Smiley's staying at LG with Thomas(providing he's healthy)starting at RG.....I look for us to take a LB at 25 or the center and we need to draft a corner at some point as well.

Ozzy rules!!

Well IMO looking through the eyes of a career backup guard, Miami would be a very attractive place to sign. Both starting guards last year had season ending surgery. It's probably Berger's best bet to get playing time and possibly start.
