Here is my mock as of right now...

ROUND 1: MAX UNGER (OREGON - C/G/T)
ROUND 2: VICTOR “MACHO” HARRIS (VT - CB/S)
ROUND 2: RON BRACE (BOSTON COLLEGE - NT/DT)
ROUND 3: MICHAEL HAMLIN (CLEMSON - S)
ROUND 4: LOUIS VASQUEZ (TEXAS TECH - G)
ROUND 5: JASPER BRINKLEY (SOUTH CAROLINA - LB)
ROUND 6: N/A
ROUND 7: MARKO MITCHELL (NEVADA - WR)
ROUND 7: WILL JOHNSON (MICHIGAN - DE)
ROUND 7: STRYKER SULAK ( MISSOURI - OLB)

Resign:
* Bell
* Carey
* Crowder
* Goodman
* Hill

Free Agent Targets:
* JULIUS PEPPERS: DE/OLB
* KARLOS DANSBY: OLB
* TERRELL SUGGS: OLB
* TJ HOUSHMANDZADED: WR

Note:
* Satele will be challenged by the rookie. He may be moving as a back-up Center/Guard...unless he can beat out the log jam of guys that think they can play RG for Miami.

* Pass Rush: Miami needs to get someone other than Porter that can sack a QB. We have some solid corners, but not even the best CB's can cover 50% of the time past 5 seconds. Miami needs to win the Division...that means Miami needs to pressure the Pats and have CB's ready to make a play.

...what do you think?

Brinkley won't be there in the 5th. Medical reports are that he is 100% after his injury. At the very least he will go in the 3rd, probably the 2nd.

Not loving the Unger pick. If we're going OL in the first I'd prefer either Mack or an OT prospect that slips, but I really see us taking the best defensive player available at that spot or perhaps even trading down (which would be ideal IMO).

Love your 2nd round though. If we come away with Harris (who I can see becoming a big time playmaker at FS) and Brace, I'll be one happy dude.

After what I saw today, I'd be disappointed if we took Marko Mitchell in any round. No speed, no hands, dump penalties = Derek Hagan part II.

Unger is really good, and his versatility is a huge plus. That being said, we need someone like Mack to go up against the Wilforks, Jenkins and Strouds of the division. The dude is a mauler.

you're right on us needing a Center who'll go up and hold his own against those guys,and Mack has been described as a mauler who loves to get physical&nasty...

1.I like Unger, but if we go with a C in round 1 it will be Mack. Unger is a strong C that Sparano likes, but Mack is the prototype C for our system

2a.Love it. Nothing else to say.

2b.Like Brace, but I'd need to see who else was available to get fully behind the pick.

3.A lot of people seem high on him, but there are other safeties I like more.

4.Sure why not

5.Brinkley would be a steal here

7a.Dunno a lot about him.

7b.As a Michigan fan I can honestly say that I don't see Will Johnson being effective in a 3-4.

7c.Dunno a lot about him.

Not bad

One huge thing that Unger has over Mack is that ability to back up Jake Long and Carey at Tackle. But when u draft a Center in round 1, he better be your CENTER . . . and Unger just doesn't fit the mold of the type of Center we would get.

I have made it known that I don't like any Center in round 1, But if u did take one, it's gotta be Alex Mack. Big time run blocker and can hold up well in pass pro. However for value . . . u can get Caldwell and Luigs in round 2. Neither known for their run blocking like Mack is . . . but they can run block very good and probably have more overall potential than Mack as they shoudl handle the big time NT's better with their frame and power.

I don't think anybody could be mad with a

1. Sintim
2a. Smith
2b. Mack/Caldwell/Luigs/Unger/Wood (best Center avail for us, one will be there)
3. Brace
4. Brinkley (probably not there, but its a round closer than what u have)

That draft would suit people more . . . and NEXT year, we can get our stud FS, as the safety class will be LOADED up front. Plus Smith might be a safety, so who knows . . . either way the hope is Smith can be our 5th DB at worst, starter at best.

I like this thought process only because while there are benefits to Unger's ability to play other positions I think you actually weaken your team because of it. If Unger is your starting C and VC gets hurt you now take your starting C to OT and bring in a backup C. This means now two backups are starting because of 1 injury, instead of having an adequate OT backup to step in with four starters.

Draft a true C and develope a OT that can one day step in full time. If A.Mack is the Center people are hyping him to be then he's the no-brainer pick in our 1st round pick. We could always get a pure pass rushing OLB in the second to compliment Roth's ability to stuff the run.

I would rather have Alex Mack as well. I just do not think he will be on the board at 25. Teams are more than willing to draft a C or G after the 15th pick in the first round of the draft. Although other teams could take both of them off the board by 25. If so, look for Miami to reach a little bit more with a certain UVA LB prospect.

Depth on the Oline is one thing that killed Miami in the playoffs vs. the Ravens. Having a player like Unger could allow Miami to have a lot of options on the OL...when injuries happen.

I think Harris could be a ballhawk of a FS...He has 4.4. speed and great hands. But he could be a very good corner as well in the NFL. His closing speed is very good and has a knack for reading routes. He LOVES to hit any offensive player on the field. He is great at returns and could allow Miami to save some juice for ginn in games. I still am not sure why he is not graded a first round talent across the board. Hard to find guys that are his height, can catch, 4.4 speed, love to hit HARD, great on special teams & reads routes well. If I was the GM a lot of guys would not like our pick at 25. I would take Harris, I would not chance a BALLHAWK type player slipping.

The 7th round picks are like winning the lottery...good luck.

Hell all of the guys on this mock could be gone before we select. But what good is a mock...if for nothing other fun.:hi5:

If that is the case...then yeah he will be a 2-4 rounder. I think Miami will try hard to gameplan for when he will be on the board, so they can select him. There is not many big body LB's in this draft. The majority of them are going to be gone before Miami even selects in the first round.

I was hoping that he would be another OGUN for Miami, a player that slips due to injury concerns.

When you look at the need of a pass rusher LB, then you look at the class on who should be on the board when Miami picks...you gotta think that Miami will purse Star Type LB Free Agents. Not saying they will overpay or trade the farm. Just that they are worried a LB for their scheme will not be on the board late in the rounds.

The love we all have for a mauler like Mack...is why I think Mack will be gone between 15-24.

15) Texans - Could use a lot of players. They have built a good foundation on the DL. This year they will focus on protecting the QB early in the DRAFT.

16) Chargers - Hardwick has never completed an injury free season. The OL did not even block until late in the year.

19) Bucs - Would have taken a QB but "Chucky" is gone. Just kidding...love Chucky. They could go for C, WR, DB, LB or HB with the pick.

20) Lions - They could really improve their line if they can stay away from picking a WR with their two 1st rounders. If they avoid QB with the top pick and take LT. It would be an amazing draft for them to secure a BRICKWALL LT and a CENTER THAT BLOWS DT off the line. It could be the best draft for them in 10 years with only 2 picks.

22) Vikings - If they choose to get younger and not bring back Birk...AP would be crying tears of joy for Mack.

24) Falcons - Todd played well last year, but is getting older and protecting their QB will be a HUGE concern for a team like the Falcons. Not to mention that the holes that Mack will make will be plenty big enough for a MackTruck type player "Burner The Tuner" to explode through.

...If you look at just those picks...you gotta admit their is not much of a chance that Mack makes it to us.

love the hamlin pick....watched him his whole college career

Not sure why he is not higher for most people. He produced and played well...I think he would be a very solid pick for the future.

Yea I mean if Mack is the Center, as much as I don't want to draft a Center first . . . that tells me the Front Office thinks he is THAT GOOD, and I would be happy with the pick.

But definitely I'm not looking for backup versatility in the first couple of rounds, I'm looking for starters.
