Roster Cuts:

Marty Booker-He isnt worth the $6M he will be getting if he stays with the Dolphins, plus he isnt a Parcells type of player,6'0,206 and very, very slow.

David Martin-I don't think I was ever into the signing of him last off-season,he is a Parcells look a-like,at 6'4",259,but he doesnt play liek a Parcells player.Back up Justin Peele was more clutch than David, and Im not just saying that because I think less of David, but don't go overboard,David is nothing more than a back up,but a damn good one.I believe we would go after somebody in the draft,or at elast grab someoen in FA.

Renaldo Hill-With how old our defense is,i dont think none is as old as our secondary.Hill is 29,Yeremiah Bell is 30,Will Allen is 30,Michael Lehan is 28,Andre Goodman is 29,Tavares Tillman is 30....we need too cut one of these guys if were so called,"getting younger",and get some younger talent.

Free Agency Pick Ups:

Drayton Florence-Most likey Drayton will be the highlight of our FA this year.We need a CB that can come in and start opposite of Will Allen, and Drayton is the man for the job.Drayton is wanting out of San Deigo mostly because he isn't starting, hes starter material, and we dont have a clear cut number 2 corner.Travis Daniels is too slow to keep up with WRs,safety should be his primary position. Will Allen is 30 years old,and he definately isn't the long-term answer,so I think we will draft another CB to take his position once he has left.Drayton got beat out of his starting postion by Antonio Cromartie, and he is too good to be the 3rd guy and not start,so he is probably the best corner thats GOING to be available, and he shouldn't command any more than $4-6M,which is exceptional for what we have on our current roster.

Josh McCown-We need another QB for insurance, seeing how Parcells doesnt really fancy players like Cleo Lemon, nothing personal anyway. So far,the only QB i see us having so far is John Beck.We should draft a QB for the "just in case factor" that of John Beck.A vet. should be appointed for the 2nd string, behind Beck, and infront of our draftee.McCown is realisticly the best vet. out there.Culpepper, after taunting Miami at home this past season,Daunte taunted any possibilities of Miami wanting him back.Grossman, tell you the truth,I'd rather have Lemon, believe it or not.Quinn gray, maybe, doesn't fit into Parcells thought of "QB's",but he is more likely than Grossman and Culpepper. However,if Trent Green Comes Back then we wont pick up a free agent. If Parcells like the QB he signed from Dallas, then we might avoid drafting a QB,which may be the reason he sign him the the first place.

Max Starks-I think he is probably the best we can hope for.Vernon Carey hasn't been the answer at LT,and is best suited for RT,he is a better run-blocker than a pass-blocker,and Starks has the ideal size for LT,and Parcell's also.Starks is young and massive, and another Pittsburgh player that may leave the Steel City. He’s 25 and is listed at 6’7†while weighing 337 pounds. His size and age will make him a desired player on many team’s list. A top tier tackle will always garner interest and Starks may lead the free agent class at the spot because of the potential he has shown on the field.

Bryant Johnson-We need some BIG bodies at Wide Receiver, and he is everything Parcells wants.Johnson flew under the radar once again this season, but those in the know consider him fairly talented. He’s overshadowed by star receivers Larry Fitzgerald and Anquan Boldin, but Johnson runs great routes, has good hands, and at 6’3†his size makes him an appealing option. He’s caught at least 35 passes in each of his four seasons, including 49 receptions in 2004, and has a touchdown scored in each season, with four coming in ’06. Although he has had a drop-off in production this season, Johnson will likely find a bigger role in another offense in ’08.

Ben Troupe/Jermaine Wiggins-Both are great athlets, and I believe since L.J. Smith got frachise tagged, these two are the best TE's are there.I perfer Ben here, but it could be either in our case.We need a true TE,and with the amount of talent in the draft, defensively,we cant really snag the best or a inmpact TE without losing out on IMPACT defensive player...all the picks i place and line-up make perfect since, and their all managable...

I believe FA won't require anymore than $15M,and we will be in great shape, and possibly even some money left over after signing the rookies. And if we get rid of Marty Booker, than we get an extra $6M,to go from $30M to $36M.

NFL Draft:

Chris Long-Tell you the truth, the only person I liked playing aside Jason Taylor was Adwale Ogunleye, and that was only an exception.Chris brings passion, love for the game, leadership, strength, and flexiability to the Miami Dolphins.May not be Parcells type right now(Chris Long 280),but if he reaches somewhere in the late 290's or early 300 lbs.,Parcells would approve him.Another option is Jake Long,he is big enough and talented enough to play LT or RT.However,it would be a lot cheaper to pick up a LT,and draft a DE/OLB,because the other way around is least likely to have the outcome this would have.

Dominque Rodgers Cromartie-With our secondaries concerns and mess,we need to revamp that within 2 years maybe 3,but Parcells probably would've like for it too be faster.I dont really see and of our current secondaries being here other than Travis Daniels(dont get your hopes up),Jason Allen(showing some promise...key word:SOME),Bell is on the fence(he plays well, but he is 30 years old already in his 4th year....),the other DB's are gonig to be gone because their contracts don't run that long and mostly because you cant rebuild with 30+ year old players, especially Defensive Backs.

Shawn Crable-Man I love this kid.6'5",242,and runs a 4.6.This says Parcells writen all over it.Crable brings the same kind of passion as Long.Crable is an excellent blitzer and play stopper from behind the LOS(Line Of Scrimmage).Crable is pretty fast for someone his height,he is extremely strong, smart and aggresive. He has tons of experience and awesome tackling ability.Crable also has the tools, experience, and ability to play DE too in a 3-4.Not to mention his gameplay is 3-4,so the better everything overall. Can you imagine our pass rush??Jason Taylor,Shawn Crable,Joey Porter and Chris Long would be a terror to even the Patriots O-Line.Crable is probably the glue of our defense, complete,as far as upfront goes.NT will be adressed later in the draft just wait and read.

Frank Okam-NFLDraftCountDown.com,the 2nd best rating of NFL Mock Drafts, has Okam falling out of the TOP 10 DT/NT.Frank is definately TOP 10 talent,at the DT position anyway. He just has been forgotten because he didn't play in any games,or competitions as of yet.The combine will most likey not help his draft status.I believe if we can get him with the last pick in DAY 1 of the draft(NE forfeited their 31st pick,so everyones pick advances 1 spot,we have the 1 pick the 3rd round,so it now becomes the last pick in the 2nd round) than it would be the dteal of DAY 1.Frank fits into our defense so perfectly. He is Parcells ideal size,6'5",weight also,320 lbs.,all he need to do is get stronger and we have ourselves a star in the making.

Adrian Arrington-I love Arrington. He is big, runs good routes, and is way faster than he times(4.65).He has good speed, and is often compared to Larry Fitzgerald(only not as good as a catcher as Larry).Arrington is 6'3",over 200 lbs.,and can contribute immediately. With proper coaching AND determination(on Arrington's part),he can become a starter one day.BIG receiver are what Miami's been lacking for quite some time now.

Jamar Adams-We need to youngin' up the secondary,so adding this yougn player will be a fine start at safety. He is very strong and tough. He is 6'2",210,and runs a 4.5.Pretty good for a safety,IMO.He need to get better at INT's,but he does have great upside, and the body frame to get meaner and nastier, probably 10 more pounds or so,give or take.Jamar is a HARD hitting safety, who should knock a few players into next week.Jamars cons, however, are lack of knowing where you are in coverage, run support and he has to get a little bit more aware of overall gameplay.Again, with greta coaching,he has starter potential.Parcells would liek everything about him.

Jamie Silva-He is a really goor safety that has the same tools, size, and ability as Jamar Adams. He has greta hands,he had 14 INT's in college,8 of those coming from this season alone. He and Jamar, has the chances of becoming a damn good start in MIA.Both have greta upside, and the strength and will and determination to better themselves.

I would love to have this kind of kind of line-up.....if you go to
http://www.miamidolphins.com/newsite/team/roster/roster.asp
and look at the 2008 schedule...I think we'll have a fair shot at .500

Thoughts?

Yeremiah Bell is a UFA and with his injury history, it's 50/50 if he'll be re-signed.
Renaldo Hill may not be ready for the start of training camp so he may not be in the equation for next season anyway.

Josh McCown?? Lemon is not a Parcells type of QB? When did Bill say or hint at this? Culpepper taunting the fans will prevent him from returning to Miami?

If you think Max Starks is a better LT than Vernon Carey, then you didn't watch Starks play much this year.

Ben Troupe may be a great athlete but he does have a problem with staying healthy.

Reagan Mauia may have some competition this year from either a late draft pick or undrafted free agent. Reagan blocks well but that's about all he does well at the moment.

Vonnie Holliday at NT? Not likely.

I would adore that draft, but I just don't see it going that way. And I like Starks (as a RT) and Johnson as FAs. The rest are meh, but it's not exactly a strong FA class this year either IMo.

Vonnie holiday is listed a NT on the roster....

And why would we draft another FB???talk about a waste of a pick...

thats why i said Drayton Florence would be our highlight FA...if it happens

Where is Vonnie Holliday listed at a NT? He's not listed as a NT here http://www.miamidolphins.com/newsite/team/roster/playerBio.asp?docid=18136 or here http://www.nfl.com/players/vonnieholliday/profile?id=HOL229554

If you read the entire sentance, you would have read where I said either a late draft pick OR an undrafted free agent. I thought I already gave my reason for bringing in another FB. Reagan is a good blocker but he doesn't run or catch the ball very well.

Thats because he wasnt Playing he was Behind one of there other guys i would mind picking him up if he was Cheap and move him to right tackle

Trace Armstrong had some solid seasons.

Thats because he wasnt Playing he was Behind one of there other guys i would mind picking him up if he was Cheap and move him to right tackle

Starks was the starting RT for Pittsburgh the two previous seasons before losing it to 2nd year player Willie Colon. He only played LT this past season because of an injury to the starter late in the season.
