Everyone enjoy. Looking forward to everyones feedback...Thanks.
1. LB: Patrick Willis – Ole Miss – 6’2 240lbs 4.65
All the top offensive picks will be gone by the ninth pick, so this should be a no-brainer. He is one of the most explosive players in this draft, and he will fill a position that is in need of a serious upgrade.
2. OT: Ryan Harris – Notre Dame – 6’5 292lbs
I’m getting tired of waiting for Anthony Alabi to take over the LT spot; if he ever does. Harris needs to put on some more weight, but he is very light on his feet, and he can handle speed rushers which is critical for us.
3. OG: Manuel Ramirez – Texas Tech – 6’4 335lbs
It was very hard for me not to go with a WR here, but I think we will see a change at the RG spot. L.J. Shelton is making left tackle money to play right guard, and I don’t think that will sit well with our new boss; whoever he may be. I’m not sold on Bennie Anderson either, I think it was a mistake signing him. So that is why I decided to go OG here. Ramirez is HUGE, and a very strong road grader. Ramirez lined up next to Carey would be sweet.
4. RB: Lorenzo Booker – Florida State – 5’11 195lbs 4.45
We need a scat back type runner to compliment Ronnie Brown and keep defenses off balanced. Booker is that type of back; he’s quick and very agile. IMO, he’s a perfect compliment with Ronnie.
6. DE: Brian Robinson – Texas – 6’3 275lbs 4.70
I watched three Texas games this year, and Robinson has the knack of getting into the backfield and disrupting plays on occasion. He has decent size and speed for a DE. Should provide good depth at the DE spot, and contribute on special teams.
7. S: Gerald Alexander – Boise State – 6ft. 205lbs 4.55
Solid tackler. Needs work on pass coverage, but he’s a decent ball player.
My “WHAT IF†factor:
Now if our new head coach decides to keep both Shelton and Anderson at RG, than there will be no need to draft an OG with our third pick. In that case, here is who we should be looking at instead:
WRs
Dwayne Bowe – LSU
Robert Meachem – Tenn
Craig Davis – LSU
Johnnie Lee Huggins – UTEP
Or
Centers
Samson Satele - Hawaii
Leroy Davis – NC State
Dustin Frye – Clemson
