My objection to Manning coming here

Manning may have something left in the tank and he would be a definite upgrade at the positon. But he is going to be coming here and by the time the season starts he will be pushing 37 yrs old. On top of that he is coming off a major neck injury. Couple that with the fact that he is going to want major sums of cap space, that is my main objection with him coming to the organization.

If he were to come here and play for a reasonable amount of money, that would be one thing. But you know he is going to want , at least, 9-10 mil./year. I think we would be better off riding Moore and grooming a young QB behind him.

Thank God you're not in charge of the Dolphins FO.

first off, its not your money at risk. secondly, if manning cant go all the time, who cares? we won with Moore and we have a easier schedule on paper next year. its worth the risk cus its not our risk. We would not be setting ourselves back unless we did not have a good draft IMO. If anyone believes we will outdo Cleveland or Washington trading up to get RG3 is crazy;Too competitive and a huge sell-off.

We are talking about a man who changes the way an entire Defense looks at us. He can be bought with nothing else but money. Its not your money. Manning would be a free man. Its really not that risky if you think about it. Its just another year without a big name QB otherwise. Just make it as cap friendly as possible. Manning wants another championship. Thats the bottom line for Peyton.

I've seen many players come back from surgery and do fine. Hard to think Peyton can't be the same if he gets on the field. I would rather have Manning Moore and rookie. Moore's low contract helps. Worst comes to worst Peyton is a great guy on the sideline. He hasnt been bad yet in his career, only injured. It's hard to believe this may even be possible. I would rather get to the super bowl 1 year and suck for 10 more than be good and never win the SB. All I want is one. We can work on the dynasty later.

Even if we bring manning in for lets say three years or so think about the plublicity and how that would make better players want to come to the dolphins. If anything he will be a foot in the door of being a major player in the free agent market and trade options down the road. Bring him to Miami!

If he is healthy, why not get him? It wouldn't make any sense not to. The only thing he would cost is money, and Ross has plenty. Get Manning, draft someone we think might have a future and let him learn from Manning for the next 3 years.

Tell me, do you think he would have a better record in the playoffs playing for the colts or Patriots? The talent that has been on that team (especially the defense) has been horrid. Everyone knows he is going to throw the ball because he always knew that his defense wasn't the best. The year the colts defense actually showed up in the playoffs they ended up winning it all. Here's a fun fact, in the years that the Patriots won their Super Bowls their defense only gave up 13.5 points a game and averaged 3 turnovers a game. In the playoffs...

The dolphins may not have a defense like the Patriots did in their dynasty years but it is certainly better than what the colts have ever had. If a healthy Manning comes to Miami, we would be instant contenders.

The ironic part is the year they won he didn't play anywhere near his standards in the playoffs.

To those of you who think Manning is about money, you must not have been paying attention over the years. It's about Super Bowls and he would give up money to help his team get better. Peyton is one of the most unselfish players in professional sports.
