It's time to turn this ship around.
Lets start at QB: Henne is going to be a QB in this league, the one thing that stood out is not once did he look like he was lost or scared. Glad Pennington became available b/c it is more than obvious Beck and McCown are not anywhere near NFL starters. Also I think Henne sitting a year will be plenty to have him ready to start next year. I think Beck showed why he will be shown the door. The yellow stains on his pants said enough. :3w: (Time for a quick prayer that Pennington can stay healthy this year so we don't see McCown.)
The O-line: I think the potential is huge for the current starting line, but I think we already knew that. There is just about zilch in the depth department, but I can see three or four new lineman coming in as the cuts begin.
TE: Where were they? Still early, but I hope the next draft class has a good TE class because we need a starter.
WR: So much for the "Hagan is looking impressive". Looked like he picked up right where he left off last year. Didn't see much of Ginn, but at least you can count on him catching the ball. We must find a #1 WR next season either by FA, or an early draft pick.
RB: We're set. Even if Ronnie doesn't come back to form right away, Ricky and Parmele could get the job done.
Front 7: I liked what I saw today and once you add in Porter and Holliday the rush should even get a little better. I think the middle of the field is going to get abused. There must of been 15 passes 5-7 yds in the middle of the D that was an easy completion. We need help in the middle, otherwise the front seven is looking to be a whole lot better than last year.
Secondary: Too early to tell, but I think our poor receiving core is making them look good in camp. Holding my judgment on this area of the team.
Overall there is no doubt we have a better team than last year, but still a few players away from a playoff team. Hopefully the offense can put points on the board becuase the D is going to give up their share consistently. I can't wait for the season to start, but I'm not sure Sundays are going to be all that easy again this year.
Here is to hoping for a competitive year :bong2:
