My only beef about the miami draft

and if we only picked OL in the 7th round, some one would be on here complaining about all the "good" players we passed on in the 7th for lineman.

Miami allowed the most QB sacks in the league last year and the right side of their o-line was the biggest weakness on the team. How can you possibly say you don't want a right tackle in the second round who has first round value? This draft was very DEEP with WR's and the dropoff in tackles in the mid-to-late rounds was steeper than WR's. Plus I think Hill is very raw. Does he run good routes? Rueben Randle would've been the better pick over Hill anyway, IMO.

The Dolphins had Marc Colombo playing right tackle last year. Right tackle was a position of need. If the playmakers are not protected, they will not make plays. On top of that, B.J Cunningham may be better than Hill. Hill caught the ball only when Georgia Tech got tired of running the ball, B.J Cunningham made plays every week. Megatron is the exception to the rule. Hill is raw.

He didn't play under Paul Johnson.

The best way to compare would be against the following scenarios:

Martin OT and Olivier DE/OLB (what we did)

Curry DE/OLB and Donald Stephenson OT (first tackle off board after our pick in 3rd round from Oklahoma) (Other option)

your qb cant get the ball to a wr if he is on his ass.

Basic truth, too often ignored. Nor can he sell play action or keep the defense honest if he doesn't have a credible threat of a five to seven yard run available, for all that the NFL is now a "passing league."

the only thing i would have done different is trade my 2 3rds up for reuban randle
