Mr. Zaslow:

It has come to my attention that you think the Dolphins fans are over-reacting. Well let me explain to you the problems down in Miami.

To put it in perspective, you have to realize the dolphins have only had two winning seasons out of the last eight years, including one season with a 1-15 record where we wondered if we were going to pull out a single win, and were the laughing stock of the league. We went through five coaching changes during that time (Wannstedt, Bates, Saban, Cameron and Sparano), and now we're on to the next project coach with no head coaching experience, Joe Philbin.

During that same EIGHT years we've suffered through TEN below average quarterbacks in Henne, Thigpen, White, Beck, Lemon, Culpepper, Harrington, Frerotte, Rosenfels and Feeley. HOW is that even possible to go through TEN quarterbacks in EIGHT years???? Only the Dolphins could manage that miraculous feat.

On top of all that the Dolphins have wasted countless draft picks by trying to pick up the unknown gems instead of simply selecting the BPA, they've made numerous boneheaded trades, and overall generally stupid management decisions. They've lost countless games due to bad coaching, and suffered through ridiculous ownership decisions like changing the fight song, getting celebrity ownership, celebrating other teams players in your own stadium, selling rival teams gear in your stores, etc etc etc.

If you don't or can't understand why us Dolphins fans are frustrated and upset, then you simply haven't been paying attention to whats been going on down in Miami. There is a reason the sports reporters, beat writers, and former/potential players are talking smack about the state of the Dolphins. It's because it's been bad.

But despite all that, I say to heck with your little opinion anyway, as fans, we've earned our right to complain no matter what you think or say. In the end, despite our complaining, we're still here and we're still cheering on our Phins each season, stupid decisions and all.

GO PHINS~!

I actually buy this argument a hell of a lot better than most. It gives the big picture.

That said, I like Ireland way better than what we have had. He obviously convinced Ross that Ireland would get him there quicker than any new guy because he is prepared more than people give him credit for. One more draft and a full offseason should prove it.

If not, I like CK's idea of that Ball guy in Green Bay. Philbin family and would be upgrade position for him.

Got about half way through and stopped reading, welcome to the NFL.

Phins are not the only team that sounds like this. All you can do is hope your team gets it...atleast 1 year.

Why be hopeful? How bout the fact we started 0-7 and came back strong and played better than we have in years!

I didn't say i wasn't hopeful. If you would have read it all you would have understood. How can you intelligently respond if you don't even read the post? That's like passing a legislative bill so that you can find out what's in it, not the smartest idea.

GO PHINS~!

I have to agree with you there, sad as Ireland has been, our drafts have actually been better than in years past. So sad. If he gets us a franchise QB this year it would make up for any prior mistakes IMO.

funny that this thread is one star, yet so is the zaslow thread... two opposite opinions..

I like Zaslow as the Heat fan.. understand where he comes from as the Dolphin fan.. and think hes a good panther fan.

Off topic.. how can someone who lives north of florida be a panthers and a dolphin fan but not a heat fan?

I don't know why everyone, including the media, are losing their minds over things in Miami. I think Miami has had fewer than 15 losing seasons since the team started in 1966. We actually had the all-time highest winning percentage of any NFL team up until a few years ago. If Miami fans think they have suffered, try trading places with teams like the Lions, Cardinals and Browns over the years. Many teams have never sniffed winning a Superbowl. Cleveland hasn't won anything since 1964....The Cardinals are the oldest NFL team and they only won one NFL title (back in 1947). It could be much much worse. I think the bottom line with Miami is the team always seems to be pretty average. Not horrible, but never great. They could at least make the team more enjoyable to watch and take more chances.

If I was Zaslow I wouldn't bother reading that once I glanced at it.

Like most normal people, he probably appreciates paragraphs.

You forgot to mention we have spent more money than the mega millions jackpot on a sub par offensive line.

I live in Pennsylvania and I am a Dolphins and Panthers fan. That is the extent of my Florida fandom. Was a Dolphins fan for so long I don't even know what young age I was when I started. Started liking the Panthers when they first entered the league and they really hooked me in in 1996 when I was 12 years old. Beating the local Flyers in 6 games, down 3-2 to the Penguins only to force a game 7 and go to the Stanley Cup was very exciting. Also, how could you not like Beezer? I remember the one playoff game that the opposing player made a shot that was so sure to go in that the red light even went on, but Vanbiesbrouck had it in his glove. So glad to see them back in the hunt after missing the playoffs the last 12 years.

Don't care about the Heat. Not that I hate them, just don't have any real interest in them. The NBA in itself is pretty boring, but if I had to root for a team it would be the 76ers. Still though, if the NBA ever folded, I wouldn't even bat an eye.

I am an average baseball fan. My team is the Phillies.
