we all know he is taking his time and playing the leverage game with the rams and phins, but i also think he maybe playing the waiting game to see if the colts job opens up.

I would agree, He is not sold on either franchise and looking at other options (Colts and Raiders)

Pundits are eerily quite today....

If you did the research you'd find that that is not how Fisher does business and if the Colts wanted to hire Fisher I doubt they would have hired a GM. Additionally, Irsay fired the Polians because he felt they were becoming to large for the franchise. They won't bring in someone who will have the kind of control they had.

I think they are quiet because they've done about all the speculation they can do, and are looking more and more foolish every day with all their flat out speculation and lack of real knowledge about the situation.

I really dont understand the daily conspiracy theories. Both the Rams and the Dolphins have alot of good reasons for joining and both have legitimate reasons for not joining.

The man will be committed to whatever team he chooses for at least 4-5 years. Given his age and how coaches often only get 2 shots as a head coach, this might be his final chance at winning a Superbowl. It looks like he is honestly conflicted. No hidden agenda.

the guy is taking way too long at this point. people saying hes "weighing his options" i mean com'on man.

its time both this teams move on, they are really being held hostage at this point. the yets got their new OC in, the jags hired their guy. lets go. get a guy in and let him grab his assistants and lets go.

the fact he needs power over a gm is speculation and may only be in play with the phins b/c of ireland or something and the "backstab" crap and the rams because of the move or who knows what else.

he may not need that to join indy.

Those same guys that this entire board thinks are terrible?

Better to wait ONE WEEK and get the right guy, then quickly go get duds.

As an organization, you just have to move on and look for other candidates.

If Fisher misses the boat and doesn't accept before we find someone, it's his loss not ours- our candidate should be clearly someone who "wants" to work with / for us, which he clearly has reservations. It is not as if he is the best, or only, quality option out there.

Regardless, he clearly has strong doubts about our team- an early indicator of incompatibility.

I think the real reason Fisher has not decided is because neither team want to give him complete control over a franchise. I think he's holding out untill someone will offer him final say on all personnel (free agents, drafts, game-day rosters, ect).

never thought this board had the most knowledge on the subject. this board has pulled for alot of other failures over the past couple decades too.

agreed

I think none of us really have a clue what's going on and we are guessing just as much as all these supposed reporters out there with all their "inside" sources. I'm not sure what's taking so long, but then again, we don't know for sure when/if he's been offered a contract. I hope we find out what the delay and back/forth (if it's truly happening) was all about, but don't bet on getting the truth unless he (fisher) tells us what happened. Meanwhile, with all the "press" this is getting, I don't know if he realizes that he's slowly alienating either teams fanbase with what is being called delays and waffling on his part (whether it's true or not). As we all know, it doesn't have to have to based completely on facts to have a perceived perception to others.

We have continued to interview candidates and i totally agree with your sentiment.

I just think that if you dont like Jeff Fisher for being Jeff Fisher, thats all well and fine. Quite frankly neither a supporter nor a hater. But the notion that hes taking too long to decide is reason enough to move on... its just has no perspective.

This isnt a Favre drawn out summer nonsense stall. He went to two different franchises and now is deciding in a matter of days. If another week goes by with no movement, then sure.... its time to start reevaluating the timeline.

But as for now..... a few days wait arent going to make me spurn the guy yet.

Come on now, you knew the chord i was striking.

Five years from now, if hes the right guy... no one will be like... "oh but what an *** he is... he waiting a few days, but those jets and jags.... they sure know how to build a franchise right..." lol
