Being in Detriot, I see every Lions game every week. I have watched the Lions closely for about 5 years now, and let me tell you that Shaun Rodgers is not the type of guy you want on this team. What I have noticed about him is he takes way to many plays off in two types of ways. He will usually go off the field on every thrid down, and in the fourth quarter of games he is out a lot. When, he is in, if he feels tierd he won't get a push at all either.

Everyone porbably saw Rodgers INT return for a TD vs the Broncos this year. That was a very nice play and showed good agility for a DL running down field. But right when he scored he was gassed. It was like a 40 yard run, and he was completely gassed. Now, I know most DL will not have to run 40 yards very often but come on, that just shows you what kind of shape this guys in.

And I think Rodgers takes plays off in Detriot where it is like 70 degrees or lower where he is. Imagine how gassed he would be in Miami's humidity.

In my oponion, Shaun Rodgers would be a waste to get not only becuase he takes too many plays off, but he will also demand a lot of cash.

I live in Detroit, too, and I can tell you Rogers is a waste of a roster space and money. People get so wraped up in a name they don't even bother doing the research e.g. all the calls for Deangelo Hall.

This guy is crap, some people just want some guy because someone is big and think can hold the middle in a 3-4. playing NT is one of the hardest position and in the league their is only 1 young 24 yr NT[wilfork] the rest are older DT who have dominated as DT and then moved to NT in their later years. Most tried and only a few even play.

but somereason they want some fat guy in the middle.steelers guy is around 30 ,jamal of chargers is the last leg of his career, ted of browns is very old.its going to take a young stud with size a few years of coaching to make 1.the chargers have been drafting the trying to find jamal`s replacement for a few years now and are unsuccessfull.

the only place where one young player are 2 backup to vince wilfork they are 22 and 24 repectively.steal both !!!

Any 310+ pound guy is going to be gased after a 40 yard run...that says absolutely nothing about what kind of shape his in, the most he's ever going to run is prolly 10 yards.

Whats prolly?

Anyway, If you get gassed out running the 40 in the NFL you are really out of shape. It is easier to run than to fight with a 300+ pound linemen every snap. You need endurance in order to play football. and from what you say you think most linemen can't stand their own because they only run 10 yards? Bull, It is very strenuous and this is why Rodgers is out every third down and in the fourth a lot. If he isn't working hard enough to stay in shape how much dedication do you think he is putting forth to be the best at his position.

The guys weigh 340 pounds...and FYI the interception was a 66 yard return, please find me a clip or any other proof of one other player the weighs over 320 pounds that can run 66 yards and not be gased after...

you hit it dead on. if rodgers could ever get himself into better shape, and be motivated to play... he's a tremendous talent, but right now, he's just a waste of time and space. im glad that we arent widely being mentioned as one of the teams that are after him.. now roy williams on the other hand... i sure hope were at least thinking about bringing him in

Roy Williams is completly different. He is the real deal, I see him being traded in the off-season becuase of the fact that Calvin Johnson has already shown glipsis of being the #1 guy for the long run, and it would be hard to keep the two under the same roof.
