We need to get younger along the D-line. It is old and it is finally starting to show. A good mix of young talent and veteran leadership is what we need. I dont think it is evening out. I wan to see more Roth, Evans, and Vickerson. And less Carter, Holliday, Wilkerson, and Zgonina.

Side Notes: Kendyl Jacox Does Not Look good.
McMichael has to be frustrated by his lack of touches
Renaldo Hill and Travares Tillman are my least favorite
players on this team right now

Yeremiah Bell should be starting. As for the D-line, I think your right. At times(more often than not) we plain just look old. Even Zach Thomas & Jason Taylor look mortal. Why are we Dolfans made to suffer? This season was suppose to be nothing but glory. Feels more like a glory hole.

Cutting a Zgonina and putting a rookie DT will not make our D-Line stronger. Kevin Carter has shown tremendous effort when he's playing as well as Holliday. The situation with RG is that do you really think there's a better option available than what we have now? If we did, don't you think we would already taking the advantage of the situation? As for Renaldo Hill and Travares Tillman, yes they are not spectacular, but they have been solid. All we can do is wait till Jason Allen is ready. That being said, I strongly disagree with you but you, like all members of FinHeaven are entitled to your opinion.

" By less, i mean it would be nice to be see an effective rotation. I live in philly, and see alot of Eagles games. They have an awesome D-line rotation, and consequently they lead the league in sacks. They have guys like Darwin Walker, Darren Howard, and Juqua Thomas who are vets. Yet, they have guys like Mike Patterson, Broderick Bunkley, and Trent Cole who add speed and youth. I know we are not the Eagles, but I see the only chance at improvement along the D-line is too let especially Fred Evans play. It is worth letting Zgonina sit and giving Evans a chance to see what he can do. As far as Roth, I just want to see him rotated in alittle more.

Totally agree! I'd add while I like Holliday he should be rotating at DE not DT - he is too small and teams are running up the gut on us because we are too small when he is in there IMO. We should be getting Evans or Vickerson in there. I also agree with Roth - he looks much tougher and has made some plays. Let's give JT some rest since he looks like he needs it - keep him fresher.

Also , do we have a LB to challenge Spragan - he looks terrible - I haven't seen him make a play yet. And why is Zach always covering the TE - he CAN'T stay with most TE's - too small and slow!! Can Crowder or Spragan cover? They sure can't make a tackle behind the line - maybe they can cover.

I am all for letting Zgonina go. I like him, he's a solid veteran player... However, he's old and stale. I'd much rather see Evans and/or Vickerson come in and bring some youthful fire to the D. Those two have got to be chomping at the bit to get in there and make an impact!!!

i agree somewhat...we do need to get Evans and Vickerson on the field asap to get them play time..but i dont know about waiving Zgonina

The main reason we won this week was the D-Line getting enough pressure to make Collins miss his recievers.....

You said it. A little reality check. As soon as our young players are outplaying our veterans they will get a shot, until then...Saban will play whoever gives us the best chance to win. Simple right...

i griped a couple weeks ago when they left
evans at home and activated jeff v-agina.

the guy they desperately were trying to trade
but couldnt.

the star of the pre season doesnt even get on
the plane!

this is a wanny move. deja vu!!

i dont think the dt's are that bad. the lb's
are looking a little sad, but we are finally
getting some pass rush from the dt spot.

v-gina needs to go. and the evans and
vickerson need to be developed.

yeah, yeah, i know, saban knows what he's
doing.

Agreed. Also we are starting to get a young D (back-ups at the moment), another draft and another year for the older guys to tutor the young un's. Then we we will really see what Nicks D can do! :dolphins:
