I think if the wheels fall off after the SD game then im pretty sure Sparano is gone, But i will not root for them to lose i dont care if we are 1-10 i will NOT root for them to lose. Im not telling others what they should do if they want to leave and stop watching then go ahead, but i will NOT be doing that.

And for the Suck for Luck Brigade he might be the real deal but i cannot possibly sit through them losing every game just to get a rookie QB in there and have to wait another 6 MONTHS for minus the pre-season for football to start again.

But if they are going to cut sparano loose then they should do it after the SD game no use having him hanging around doesnt make sense. Let the interim coach finish out the season who knows we might get lucky not likely but who knows?

I wonder who the coach will be next year and i hope to god it's not Bill Cowher, he brings the same type of 3 yards ad a cloud of dust menatlity that most he despise. I would want someone who is going to change the way we play as a football team, i would say Rob Ryan but i wonder if that bravado that he displays would work as a head coach.

Ryan i think is truly ovverated as a defensive coordinator everybody looks at him and thinks Rex but, Rex is a better DC and a sort of underrated HC (cant believe i typed that...yuck) The best solution would not be gruden either but i think thats the solution we would go.

Problem with Gruden is the fact that his personality is grating and irritating and he really did not have any success after dungy's players had left and mangaged to run the team into the ground even with cheap owners who didnt help the situation.

So what do we do? Do we go the safe route someone proven or do go outside the box to shake things up. Personally i think our choice should be Bruce Arians out of Pittsburgh i think that the explosiveness that his offenses bring would hep tremendously.

This situation is just a mess and i dont really see how long it is going to take to fix it, unfortunatley it took 4 years to get to this point and we find ourselves in almost the same postion. I dont want to take another 4 years to fix it but it looks that way unfortunatley.

I will. It's time to look at the big picture. I'm officially fed up. I know I'm not the only one. I understand it's pretty disgraceful to hope your team loses, but if you take into account how much more disgraceful the cronies who are running our organization are, it's fair play.

Personally I don't want Cowher or Gruden . . . Gruden doesn't develop QBs and Cowher is too old school.

I want a fresh, young offensive mind at OC ala Saints/Packers. Say what you want about Cam Cameron, the dude has some ability as a playcaller. Was given a team that had terrible luck with injuries and got all the scrutiny because of the Ted Ginn pick. At this point, we probably should not have given up on Cameron. I never disliked the guy personally but like most Dolfans I was excited to be getting Parcells/Ireland/Sparano after a 1-15 season. In hindsight, I'd rather of rolled the dice with Cam Cameron. He gave the Fins some excitement on offense . . . Ronnie was a machine and he did it with a no name OLine. Ironically we had Capers as the DC and he got alot of scruitny as the DC but his defense was tormented by injuries, not to mention they had gotten old. Capers of course runs the defense for the Super Bowl champion Green Bay packers while Cam Cameron is the OC for a Ravens team that is pretty damn explosive on offense.

The Dolphins (fans included) are just too shortsighted some time . . . whoever comes in better catch lightning in a bottle or the same fate is bound to happen.

Exactly until that happens things wont change no matter who the coach is.

I wouldn't mind a young offensive mind to be the next head coach. But it has to be someone with a strong personality that will demand respect. He needs to be a natural leader. Cameron didn't have that and the players walked all over him. I don't think Norv Turner has it either. Both of them are better coordinators than head coaches. The Dolphins need someone like a Mike Tomlin or Raheem Morris at head coach, a natural leader who players will respect and play hard for. They haven't had that in a head coach for a long time.

A HC is much less about Xs and Os these days unless you want a puppet coordinator. But with so many things to do (clock, personnel on and off the field, injuries, officials, etc) it's ridiculous to expect a genious chalk man to come in and be a great HC.

Take Belichick. For all his supposed genious - and I'll agree he's a great defensive mind - he could only win championships with Romeo Crennel present. His defenses have fallen off a cliff since then, because no man can do *everything*. And his recent successes have had much more to do with offenses, specifically a system that Josh McDaniels installed and has remained pretty much the same since.

Coaching is also a team sport. You can have a fantastic HC but be hindered by your coordinators (think Shula and Olivadotti). And luck also plays a role. Fisher and Schottenheimer are, IMO, two of the greatest coaches of their generation, but they haven't won a championship. Hell, the much beloved (at least here) Cowher took 15 years to win his ring.

As to the rest of the OP's points I agree wholeheartedly. I won't stop rooting *for* this team, no matter the situation.
