Peyton and Miami already have somewhat of a deal in place and Manning is just doing his due diligence by making these visits. The Dolphins being so stoic and nonchalant about the whole thing is probably because they already know that barring anything dramatic Manning is theirs. Even watching the video of Philbin telling the reporter "lets see what develops over the next week" he had a little bit of a smirk on his face as if he already knew.. I could be wrong but I guess we will know soon enough...

It would be nice if that was the case, but I doubt it. I don't think Peyton is the type of person that would go spend time in Denver and Arizona if he knew for sure he was coming to Miami.

my perception is he will visit denver, arizona, and us. i believe he has a favorite, which is us.
i dont believe he opts for arizona because they dont have the money that denver and miami can offer and is been rumored he doesnt want to play for the nfc.

i would eliminate denver because their team is not as good as ours top to bottom and depth wise. denver has a lot of catching up to do in the personnel dept, though they have a lot of free cap space. also manning wont step on tebows toes, as they are employed by the same marketing company.

out of the 3 , we are the best fit. the only negatives i can see is , maybe he doesnt like ross or ireland, or cant match a financial offer or hes worried about facing brady twice a year.

i very much doubt it

well, i dont know about any deal being in place, but i'm pretty sure his wife likes the beach. and I am pretty sure she lives near one right now.

btw, back to denver, just thought of the notion of Elway asking Brandon Lloyd if he would come back to Denver if they get Manning. This is what looks to me is a cheesy response to one of Manning's concerns of being able to contend for a title with current roster.

really?

due diligence?
Leverage?
Money?

Probably get better predictions from Ms. Cleo

"Mrs Manning" is a Big reason why Peyton Owns a Off season Condo in South Beach. The Wife always Rules.

well my only doubt was he had a deal in place already. I personally think it will be a simple matter of us getting outbid. I also dont think he views our team as any better to contend than a Denver or an Arizona. Now if he comes to Miami of course he will give the line he felt we were reasy to contend lol

Also him having a condo here may be a factor but im sure him having the money he has he can go any where he wants and most of the teams looking to sign him are in great cities.

Sorry IronChef, but I can't see any logic on this thread.

Peyton Manning knows about football, marketing and has some priorities on his mind. So he needs to know what each team is offering in order to select the best move for his future.

He isn't committed to Miami, but he knows this team offers serious advantages over many franchises so there's a slim chance he wants to hear Dolphins at the end of his tour.

i think something's happening,....manning's going to end up somewhere.....i can feel it in my bones.

I think OP has a valid thought. I really compare it to the LeBron saga in the way that you could basically narrow it down from the outside. I think the only curveball here is the massive amount of cap space the broncos have. LeBron was picking between Cleveland and Miami. Chicago? Not living under jordans shadow. New York? Not going for the big spot light/money. Nets? Please. Now we can say this situation with Manning is completely different as it is and he is on the downside of his career. But I think you can logically decide the few locations it will be. I'm going Miami/Denver. I don't think he will step on Tebowmania. I think too many signs point to Miami (ignore the media). If i'm wrong then I will just laugh because he goes to Arizona and that is that, what is my 1 post or 2 cents worth anyway... A reply that says, " Get me some of what your smoking "... but I still think there has been behind the scenes communication and or tampering, but no set deal in place, just a mutual agreement that manning will come to miami.

That to me is exactly how I felt going to bed last night. That Denver was going balls to walls $ with the agent pushing this. I just think in the end, Manning wants to contend for a championship. I think he has a good picture of Miami in his head. At least he should since he golfs with danny.

I'm telling you all, our biggest problem last year was the non-offseason. It set our new offense back and its why we lost close games early to playoff teams. What we did in the second half was more real and we should have beaten Cleveland, NY Giants, and Denver. Alot of fluky things and it all points back to non-preperation particularly with our rookies looking to make a difference early. The couldnt and they didnt really minus Pouncey. It took Clay a while to get it down and Gates started to show on ST. I think Philbin already sees what happened last year and with a HC on hot seat, could see why things went down like they did.

Anyhoo, I just think Manning will see the talent team wide vs. others and see how this year will be different for us with Peyton putting us over the top.

Also, this whole going through Brady thing is really what will pump Peyton up, not say "better chance in another division". He wants the competition with a full deck to beat the best, cus thats what you have to do anyways in the end.
